Re: “The right is addicted to faulty logic and fabrication

Thanks for putting into words what I think every time I read Wooten's column. He's a terrible writer who likes to tweet dog whistles and make stuff up.

Re: “CofC student body VP: Legislators must respect academic freedom

I'm a 66 year old married white grandfather. Back in the sixties I had a Philosophy Professor who said he wasn't afraid of any idea. Neither am I. I read the book and found it well written and thought provoking. Too small to be a country and too big to be an insane asylum pretty much sums it up for SC.

Re: “Public rips proposed Obamacare nullification bill at North Charleston hearing

This proposed law shows me that the sponsors are more interested in politics than governing and helping those who need affordable insurance. The refusal to expand Medicaid and set up a state exchange further shows that our state has no empathy for those in need and further guarantees SC's dismal record regarding healthcare will continue unabated. Disgusting.

Re: “Regardless of what Republicans say, living outside our means is the American Way

Progressives have been right about the economy, Krugman in particular. The economy has always been better under democratic administrations and worse under republican leadership. That's a fact. Lowering taxes does not and has not created jobs, i.e., Bush tax cuts produced job loss
es. To lower the debt we need jobs and a jobs bill fixing infrastructure would be a good start.

Re: “Alex Sanders back as chair emeritus at Charleston School of Law

He is a great man and they are lucky to have him in any capacity. As a young lawyer I remember arguing a case before the Court of Appeals and how, afterwards, he had the Justices come down from the bench and shake hands and speak briefly with the attorneys. That's the kind of person he is.
