My son Henry was born at the Charleston Birth Place last year and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The professional yet loving care we received throughout my pregnancy was amazing! As a first time mama CBP made me feel confident that I could bring my baby into this world without drugs or interventions. I have yet to meet a woman who regrets having their baby at CBP--I wish I could say the same for all the moms I know who had hideous experiences at MUSC, East Cooper and Roper St. Francis. Taking away the option of the Charleston Birth Place from women in the Lowcountry would be a grave mistake and I have written to Gov. Nikki Haley, State Sen. Chip Camsen, and Rep. Peter McCoy informing them of my opinion.
This place is awesome BUT the address is now 79 Spring St!
