I believe there is still a law on the books in this state requiring adult male members of a congregation to bring their guns to church on Sundays.
I LIKE the guilty-but-mentally-ill statute. It seems to keep the murdering wackos off the street instead of being paroled, sane or not, in a few years. As far as contraceptives, I propose that any woman receiving Aid to Dependent Children be REQUIRED to be fitted with an IUD, Norplanted, or given some other method of long term birth control before she can pick up her first check. After all, the poor thing probably has her hands full raising one baby all by herself. Let's make sure she doesn't burden herself, (or the taxpayers), with another one.
I feel your pain. I drive a small car and this frequently happens to me too. Another pet peeve of mine is neighborhood associations who put up signs or pillars right at the entrance to their neighborhoods which block my view of oncoming traffic. The same goes for homeowners who plant bushes right at corners. I think there is a law that states these bushes must be trimmed so as not to obstruct a drivers view but I doubt that it is ever enforced.
I grew up in Denver and didn't appreciate the mountains until I left. I need to get downtown more often. Thanks for the reminder.
Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency”
Looking at the big picture, the Democrats are desperate to win the house so they can ram through all the crap they forgot about while they were obsessed with ramming through Obama Care. Busch might have lied a good game about moderation and independence but more likely would have ended up as a freshman dog washer for team Pelosi. Sanford won, and to quote the noted Simpsons social commentator Nelson Muntz, "HA HA".
