Can see both sides of the situation. Having been a tourist in towns where cruise ships come to call, I avoided the "rush" of people (as well as the inflated prices) that were within walking distance of the ships, so I can understand citizen's concerns about this onslaught of humanity of the mega-cruisers. I also agree that any agreement with SPA should be in writing, due to the abovementioned past practices. I have long felt, however, that our waterfront in Charleston has been marred by the industrial appearance of the container ship area. The development of an attractive cruise terminal could be a good opportunity to beautify an area of the city that could use some refurbishing.
I certainly DO wonder about Mayor Riley's motivation is to steadfastly criticize his citizens in order to defend the SPA. Given his background in real estate, there must be a good deal in it for him somewhere...
Pizza's OK, but it's Kiddie City...
Used to be a regular there, but have been in more recently and the service and quality of food was disappointing. Hate that - it used to be one of my favorite places...
