Re: “The way to make Charleston bike friendly is to get more bicyclists on the road

Guy, I'm sure you probably keep a gun in your F-250. Spending $3.80 a gallon on gas is more irresponsible than riding a bike to work. Share the roads, gas hog.

Re: “UPDATED: Cyclist dies following downtown accident

i live downtown and ride my bike every day to work and elsewhere. i can attest to the fact that drivers are not careful enough when it comes to us on our bikes. we have every right to be on the road too! most bikers are contentious and have experience riding downtown, as mr gardener obviously did. if the driver was a 21 year old driving a jeep, chances are she wasn't as aware as she should have been. i feel sorry for her because i'm sure she would never mean to cause him any harm but at the same time this really should be a wake up call to all the college of charleston kids that go flying through town at 40 miles per hour. it's dangerous and makes me scared to ride my bike on any main roads.

Re: “Yankee yokels bug local yokels

How about this: I am a relocated, New Jersey Yankee and I couldn't be happier down here. I think what makes you "locals" so upset are the people that come down here expecting things to be the exact same as when they were living up North. Not all of us are like that and it irks me when y'all put every person not from South Carolina in the same category. There are obnoxious people from every region, don't compartmentalize us.
