Jaxx: Read your own posting, in case you have forgotten and maybe you will understand why I Googled it. You said: "If you were there, tell us 'precisely' what she said. Or at least make a 'good faith effort' to do so." Further, as I told you Anna Johnson had been misquoted in the media; therefore, I wanted to get the source that got it correct, which happened to be the City Paper, on whose site you are reading this. Now...don't start name calling and we will get along just fine. Have a nice life.
Jaxx: Google is my friend, and apparently not yours. As was reported by the City Paper: [Anna Johnson made] "a requirement that county staff 'make good faith efforts to evaluate and consider claims made by residents for compensation due to the impact of [I-526] on their property.'" Considering claims is not assuring compensation as you would lead folks to believe.
"Jaxx": I was there for the vote on I-526 and heard exactly and precisely what Anna Johnson said, which has on occasion been misstated by some of the press in town. So I very much disagree with your statement that she has made any "false claims about compensation for those displaced by 526." Just. Ain't. So.
So he can make mistakes but when someone looks at something and votes what is best for the community, then she (Anna Johnson) is wrong and deceitful. Surprised that he didn't try to blame the blatant late filing on Ms. Johnson. So, if you believe that he only spent $590, then who is the one putting up all the signs and such? The public, especially those who live on Johns Island (like me), deserve to know. And to accuse Ms. Johnson while explaining his alleged "mistake" is just way more than I want to hear from this man who runs for County Council at the time his request for a million or so for a "conservation easement" on his land is pending before that body. Obviously the Ethics folks ain't gonna do anything to Mr. Legare or his shadow organization "Nix526" that claims to be a "grassroots organization." Time to vote against him and for Anna Johnson.
I quit reading after Thomas Ravenel said the "courageous actions of former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden." The little pimple headed traitor Snowden is in Russia, while supposedly espousing freedom from government surveillance? Really? And you can't tell me that if he indeed was courageous that he would stand here in the USA, which he says that he loves so much, and take any heat. Yet he goes to a fully Communist Country? Surely Thomas Ravenel would appreciate freedom as he was a big ole dumb ass enough to let cocaine take his freedom when they shipped him off to prison. Now that he had his 15 minutes of fame again from Bravo TV, he wants to be back in the public eye, whether in a good light (unlikely, no matter what his last name is) or in a bad one. Oh, by the way Thomas--I would not vote for you under any circumstances, as you are absolutely morally repugnant. Yet you don't know it....which means that you have a lot of growing up to do. Oh, and City Paper, y'all really don't need to print his crappy opinions as it lowers what folks think of your newspaper.
