no, dont think they invinted the concept at all...but i do think its pretty odvious that they are the only ones in town that have mastered the quality of drinks. Also, does Charleston really need another "speakeasy" style bar. I just dont see the need to jump on the bandwagon. The decor/style might be better at other places but the drinks at Husk, the Bellmont, the Speakeasy and all these other places are light years behind the Gin Joints.
another Gin Joint ripoff
Gin Joint is by far the best new bar in Charleston. If you go, make sure you try the New Orleans gin fizz, Rattlesnake or the Southside. It is deff a plus to sit a the bar so if there is an empty seat jump on it!
this really sux because the reason Charleston will never have a thriving scene is because there will always people like this that want to down it. If we were in NYC i could see where your article made some sense but for Charleston i found the show to be amazing. I would think that the new space wasnt for more new types of art wk, it was to fit more people. Also, if you wanna get down to it, that wasnt Rocky Horrors speakers, if you want to place blame on that blame DUB ISLAND for providing him shitty gear.
