How about an address ?
Jack's Cosmic serves over-cooked terrible stuff .. ICK
Went Fri, Feb 6th 2009 with my wife -- 2nd time since new owner took over. I had previously been there many times when the prior owners were in command for lunch and dinner spanning a few years.
Service started quite slow & staff was quite disjointed, nor focused. Service wound up being how it started.
Food was served .. slowly. Bread was served after appetizers. Entrees arrived lukewarm / warm. Not good. My wife's entree was too salty. Portions remain generous, prices are okay, but overall, the experience has badly fallen.
I am afraid the new owner seems like "a good guy" but he has no clue. He'll lose his shirt and in this very tough economy Coco's [prediction] will go down within 3-4 months. I am writing this review on Feb 10, 2009 @ 618pm. He needs a tough, experienced manager.
I went back for a 3rd try after being served lukewarm food that was supposed to be hot, and burnt food that was supposed to be medium. My gumbo arrived hot this time, but diluted & without real expected flavor -- it was spicey for sure but from a shaker. My fish was over-cooked & dry with a cardboard texture. Oysters were okay, with accompaniments that won't rock your soul. Beer was ice cold as I like it. These folks know how to serve a bottle of brew. The groceries remain pedestrian. I won't eat here again. It's a bar where you can elect to feed your face with stuff. Sadly, Ray's BBQ down the road was real good but they have packed it in. Too bad.
Not happy with paying roughly $70 for two after suggesting the food was not too good .. All I got was shrug of the shoulders from our waitress. She was too busy figuring out her job and what to do besides smiling. Martin Stuart posted above is one of the investors. He should have hired better people before opening up. Agree with other folks about heavy salt, cold soggy fries, burned stuff that was cold. Bad man. We won't go back for food. It's just a bar.
Re: “17 North Roadside Kitchen”
great service .. mediocre food .. over hyped .. no where close to what Brett has done before .. sensing this is a side investment with no real McKee hands-on involvement ..
