Re: “Central Mosque of Charleston”
The Central Mosque of Charleston is the largest Muslim Mosque in the tri-county area. It has it's own web site www.charlestonmuslims.com and its members come from virtually all over the world. Imam Mohammed Melhem often lectures to Muslims as well as non-Muslims and the members of the Mosque are very proactive. If non-Muslims want to learn more about Islam and not feel intimidated in any way...they need to visit the Central Mosque of Charleston. The President of the Mosque is an African American and invites all to visit the Mosque. The Mosque has lectures, pot luck dinners, five daily prayers, and a Sunday School. The people who attend the Mosque are friendly and enjoy the Friday Prayers, which takes place on Fridays between 1:30pm-2:00pm.
