So much potential it seems, but lapizzeria quickly became a dining nightmare for me and my wife. Although the disorganized shuffle of the seemingly incompetant owners was at first, mildly entertaining, by the end of this experience we just wanted the check and to get as far away as possible. We were initialy so confused by the menu alone; some written on the wall behind us in mis-spelled almost illegible handwriting, some on a stained and wrinkled copy of papaer menu, and still yet even more on the opposite wall. There were no waiters, only the woman owner, who had an insulting tone when we inquired about the food preperation. The cups she offered were not clean, and almost everything we touched had a film of grease on it, including the table at which we sat. Furthermore, these people seemed incapable of communicating with each other. A simple food order repeatedly turned into a 3 ring circus. My wife's caprese salad was smothered in spices and oil, and the tomatos were almost mushy. 30 minutes later our first of two pizzas were brought to the table. We tried the Margherita, and found it strange that it was covered with big blocks of cold mozzarella. When we asked the owner, she shook her finger at us and told us that we don't understand how they do it in italy. Overall, the pizza was good, but very chewy. This didn't coincide with the owners lecture about the quality of flour they use. As this type of pizza can be found anywhere in south carolina for much less money. Close to an hour into this endevor, we were still waiting for our second pizza. When i appraoched the counter to inquire, the woman had no recolection of the order, where we were sitting, and how long we've been waiting. When they tried to disguise this blunder by speaking italian to each other, it was still obvious to us that the 2nd pizza had not even been made yet. Needless to say we opted to pay the bill instead, leaving our leftovers on the table. Who knows how difficult it could have become if we aked for a box!
seemed very disorganized and the pizza by the slice was too expensive and not even very tasty. Hope they can get it together, or were just having a bad day.
