Jeff Spahr, owner and head harvester of the Charleston Oyster Company, oversees every step of his oysters’ life cycle. Not only does he plant, harvest, and clean them, he’ll even deliver Bulls Bay oysters for $35 a bushel to your home anywhere in the tricounty area. This summer, you can enjoy the same service with his other enterprise, the Charleston Shrimp Company. Spahr plans to make deliveries of fresh McClellanville-caught shrimp to restaurants and homes twice a week. He runs his business online, so all you have to do is visit his website (or call him), fill out an order form, and wait for a rep to call and confirm a delivery time. Orders take three to four days to process, and the oysters are usually dropped off a few hours before your roast. Local Oysters’ delivery area spans from Summerville to McClellanville. And as far as customer service is concerned, clients can call Spahr anytime.
