After serving Shem Creek for 17 years at Raul’s Seafood, Kimberly Carroll lost her prime space for retail and started crabbing. She’s proud of the effort she puts in to providing Charleston with the freshest catch possible. She sells to a number of prestigious downtown restaurants including Husk, Hominy Grill, FIG, The Ordinary, The Grocery, and Carolina’s. She also distributes for wholesale and private events. The smallest order she’ll take is for a dozen crabs, and she encourages customers to call ahead and place orders a few days in advance. Carroll sails way up-river to catch crabs living in pristine waters and her knack for the trade has made her a favorite source for soft-shells.
