Witness this stunning dance/theater production of Isadora Duncan's life story told through her brilliant words and authentic reconstructions of her most famous dances. Part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

Put on your pants, cuz you just might want to dance
Isadora Duncan once said, "My motto is 'sans limites,'" a phrase she came to live by and continues to project from beyond the grave. Although she lived in the socially strict Edwardian era still defined by the class standards of the Victorian period, Duncan shrugged off popular opinion and revolutionized dance. Word Dance Theater's production of Revolutionary! Isadora Duncan marries the words and dance of the famous artist to produce a moving biographical exposé.

See it to believe it
Clad in Duncan's signature Grecian tunics, dancers take the stage reenacting some of her most famous pieces. Director Cynthia Word says of the production, "Her work is such a celebration; it's not always beautiful, but always uplifting." Some prior audiences have been brought to tears, so bring a tissue.

Inspiration information
If for no other reason, audiences should attend Revolutionary! just to get inspired. Isadora Duncan's goal was always to work toward the "highest intelligence in the freest body." Whether you're a dancer, lawyer, writer, or doctor, that's something everyone should try to achieve.
