WHAT IS IT? A two-hour pickup game for every exhausted, punchy Fringe improv performer who’s still in town on June 6. Performers line up to do variations on their best bits, but then the show shifts to an extended jam, with comics from different troupes riffing off each other for the first time. Demand for this show inspired the organizers to offer it on two separate nights several years ago, but the experience proved too taxing for the performers.
WHY SEE IT? Because you’ll have absurd amounts of talent on stage, and anything can happen. “It’s like running a marathon, and right before the finish you stop and play a game of speed chess,” says Theatre 99 co-founder Greg Tavares. “And then you finish running.”
WHO SHOULD GO? Improv fans in general. The finale is a hot ticket every year. (Dan Conover)
