I am in my late 50's and saw your billboard on 526 3 days ago. I put it right on and was thrilled at what I heard. Like a teenage boy in high school, I was compelled to contact you guys. The only L'il's I want to hear are L'il Eva L'il Stevie Wonder and L'il Anthony. Hearing the Isley Bros. and all the other hits from that era is just wild. THANX I am your new #1 fan and will do whatever I can to pass it around. Keep it up guys, you are awesome!!!!!!!!! thanx again, Paul Le Clair
That sure is really good music. I mean the Beatles must feel stupid they couldn't write music like this.
I'm so jealous of my parents that go to grow up with good music in the 50's ,60's and 70's. This is beyond bad
I really like the collab, nice article!
Wooo! That Groundhog day picture is by Leslie McKellar
This was a fabulous show from a fan from day one!
This radio station is a God-send
This is legit all I want for Christmas.
Great guy and a new venue for all
Cruising Down the Doo-Wop Lane is at 8 PM on Fridays, followed by Noodle's "Swing Shift" at 9 PM
Really uncool of him to do that. Not very artisanal
Really uncool of him to do that. Ungrateful
I can remember when North Charleston cancelled the Snoop concert back in the day.
"All Lives Matter!"
If all lives matter, then black lives matter. Which is the whole point of the movement. Glad you agree.
vivaladreamer said, "There is an erroneous perception in the community that BLM is anti-police".
That is laughable. Wake up lady! Either you have no idea what is going on in your own supposed moment or you are not very smart. Nicest way I can say it.
Another reason venues don't want hip hop culture is because they don't make any money off the crowd. Ask anybody that owns a bar or music venue. Go ahead and ask
It's CRYSTAL clear this event was singled out by CPD due to its connection to Black Lives Matter. There is an erroneous perception in the community that BLM is anti-police, and its obvious the powers that be at CPD subscribe to that flawed way of thinking. This was a way for Captain Searson and the department to flex their muscles and head BLM off at the pass. Period.
Additionally, to use circumstantial evidence from a completely different event, featuring a completely unrelated group of artists, presented by a completely different group of promoters to justify "safety concerns" for this event is both discriminatory and egregious.
CPD would do well to stop crimininalizing black folks and the Music Farm would do well to stop simultaneously poaching and marginalizing hip hop culture.
All Lives Matter!
If they aren't worried about "safety concerns" why should the CPD? Sounds to me instead of saying CPD helped to make them safe, they are saying the police made up reasons to keep them from having their concert. By all means... Let them have the concert and when the shooting begins, lets all meet for coffee and cake and they can take care of themselves.
