Re: “Leaf Café and Bar

Their Basil Leaf Linguine has sauce that is way, way too creamy.

It sucks balls.

Re: “Eclectic Chef

This is my favorite Summerville restaurant. I have never had anything bad there. The customer service is great as well. Great soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts.

Re: “Leaf Café and Bar

I agree with another reviewer about this being a great "go-to" place. If you have people in town or a group for lunch or dinner its a nice, inexpensive place to go. Plus they have great service. I was there this weekend (and I go a lot) and when my food came out, randomly the ham was missing from my ham bocadillo. I wasn't upset, I could tell it was an honest mistake and was happy to eat my truffle fries while they fixed it. The waitress took it off the bill without us even asking. And she removed our friend's beer b/c he didn't' care for it. Completely unnecessary, but appreciated. Those type of touches in service is what makes it such a go-to place for people in town.

Re: “Paisano's Pizza Grill

Sorry but i can't support a business whose owner rips off college students to the tune of thousands of dollars by running electricity from 2 of his properties into ONE METER which cost these students 3000 extra in heating/cooling bills! Then when they threatened court he paid them but refused to give them their 1000 rental deposit when they left the house in great condition..i guess thats how he afforded a second pizza shop...maybe thats how its done in russia but this is USA~~sadly he is a slick willy n knew how to protect his assets--

Re: “Big Gun Burger Shop

In February we visited Big Gun Burger Shop and due to issues at checkout our card was charged 3 different times with the overcharge amount of 119.32.This amount cleared the first week of March. After multiple phone calls from my husband including emails with a transaction report sent to the owner we were told it would be fixed. However, we still have not recieved a refund for the amount. As great as the food may be I am disappointed with the owner for not fixing a simple mistake. Just beware and any future customers may just need to bring cash to guarantee they do not have the same issue.

Re: “Smokey's Place Sports Bar and Grill

Best burger in town. Don't know what they are talking about in terms of right wing antics. I have been there a thousand times and never heard one discussion. Plus the owner is not a guy (I don't think), the wait staff is friendly, and the food is set at a very good price for the portions you get (I can never finish). Pretty funny reading the comments on the right wing stuff, as long shoremen go there all the time. You can smoke in there which is probably a turn-off for most, but there is always take-out!

right wing political and publically antigay as if i want to have a beer and listen to unsolicited nonsense. better places elsewhere for food, service and friendliness.

Re: “MEX 1

Was not impressed with the food nor the service. 15 mins once seated to have the waitress take our drink order, 10 minutes to get those (non-alcoholic ones at that), then once food was order everything came out with onions on it although wasnt specified on the menu. I personally do not like onions and picked them off. Waitress noticed me picking them off but didnt feel the need to ask any questions.

Re: “How Art Thou? Cafe

Cade Style was awesome! Blues, jazz, Motown, our feet were tappin' to the music while we joined in singing to old familiar songs. Great performance.

Re: “RB's Seafood

Have not been to RB's much since it was supersized to a three level monstrosity on "The Creek", but met some friends on top last Saturday and I must say the experience was very pleasurable. I was somewhat concerned about the food quality based on previous visits, but something has definitely changed for the better because the entrées passing by our seats at the bar looked, smelled, and likely tasted spectacular. While my party did not order any main dishes from the dinner menu, the selections we did sample were definitely fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The blackened salmon Caesar salad was so much better than any other similar one in this town with a large portion of nicely seasoned fish, soft-leafy spinach, and real Caesar dressing it could easily be enjoyed independently as a satisfying meal. The fried onion rings are lightly battered to perfection and extremely addictive. I mention this because I am not a big fan of onion rings and for the most part avoid them entirely. Other samplers were equally well prepared with fresh ingredients and served at the correct temperatures. The place was busier than normal possibly due to some large wedding, prom night, and private parties yet the service did not seem to suffer. How the lone bartender was able to handle the constant waves of patrons and remain as friendly and accommodating as she was is beyond me. Other “so called” bartenders in Mount Pleasant and downtown Charleston could learn much from this young lady. Everyone in my group, some of whom were from out of town, really had a great night on Shem Creek and that is not so easy to accomplish anymore. True, the “overkill” parking lot signage needs to go and the nautical theme is a bit over the top, but Ronnie Boal’s seafood palace beside the shrimp docks is providing quality local waterfront dining and, like the man himself, will still be there in one form or another when the rest go down with the ship.

Re: “Xiao Bao Biscuit

Thit Bo. Damn. I wanted to go into the alley out back to see if there was a Vietnamese lady squatting over a piece of charcoal with a grill basket in one hand and a fan keeping the coals hot in the other. These people are doing it right. The nuoc nam sauce was wonderfully fishy, citrusy, and spicy. You are supposed to just dip into it but I finished it off with a spoon.

BeerLao for $4. Yes, in Laos it is $.60, but you are not in Laos.

Re: “Cha Cha's Tequila Bar

finally a replacement for Buffalo South, the place has a great elevated bar, Happy Hour is superb.... we keep going back you should too, Tecate & salsa, what ever you order on the menu is nutrition with a buzz, what more can you ask from a sports bar ?

well, if they're "comparable to Zia" I definitely won't try them. Zia is horrible.

Re: “MEX 1

cheaper than Taco Boy, comparable to Zia, not quite as original as Taco Spot. Fun atmosphere. Taco list does have room to grow, but doing extremely well so far.

Re: “MEX 1

Just another Taco spot. Well I can't say that, because the real Taco Spot is just down the street. Overpriced food and lacking decor. They're definitely going to make it though. How can you not when you charge so much for a bland taco and beer.
