Went to this concert and it was absolutely amazing! Really wonderful display of talent.
A must see! Easy parking! Variety of art in the exhibit was exceptional! Amazing local talent.
Such a welcoming event. Very inspiring. There was so much love and passion displayed through the pieces and the people I encountered.
What an awesome exhibit! It was great to see the work of some extremely talented local artists! The exhibit was just the beginning of our plans for the evening, but we ended up talking about the art for the rest of the night. The music and light hors d'oeuvres were a great addition. My friends and I will definitely revisit this exhibit next year!
Loved the layout of the exhibit and of course the works that made it up. Volcanoes in the Kitchen were nothing short of spectacular. A definite must see at this year's Spoleto
Amazing show. Thank you Hirona for this delicious feast for the eyes. My seven year old was amazed, and I was in awe of the art created by our own here in Charleston.
What an excellent event! We had eight stories last night that spanned comedy to poignancy, and covered topics such as little league, high school and college trip misadventures, and how to become best friends with Richard Simmons (hint: sing along with him). Thanks to John McMahon for organizing the event and to all the story tellers who were brave enough to get up in front of a bunch of strangers and share true stories with us.
I have to disagree with the other comment. I thought the bar crawl was great, and so did my friends who attended. There were at least a dozen bars on the crawl. It would have been annoying and time consuming to try to get every person on the bar crawl (I understand there were more than 100 people) to walk together to each one. I liked that we got to go to whatever bar we wanted in whatever order we wanted to.
And yes, you could set up your own happy hour pub crawl, but the point is that these were RARE beers, not ones you could regularly get. I thought the samples were pretty large, especially with the majority of the beers being high-gravity. Halfway through the crawl I was definitely feeling the effects. I can't image how wasted we would have been if the samples had been larger.
I loved it and would do it again. Thanks City Paper!
A must see every year ! guarranteed to put a smile on your face and make ya wanna dance!
Was absolutely awesome. Mellow, great tunes, perfect weather and good people. First time at the Cottage and can't wait till their next event. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Thanks for making a perfect birthday evening for my wife.
I saw this last night and it was a fun show to see. As an added bonus, you can now park in the lot right across from the theatre for just $5. It is super convenient if you don't live downtown.
Thank you Susan!!
So excited for the new season starting tomorrow! Also, 3-time MLB All Star Tim Hudson is making a rehab start with the Rome Braves against the RiverDogs on Saturday!!
The event here says 10 a.m., but based on all other event information on their FB Page and in press releases, etc. it is actually at 6 p.m., with festivities starting at 4 p.m. I believe!
I've been saying a long time Rickey needs to C'mon down from the hills and play for us here in the low country....well he's here and Charleston is in for a Carolina Home boy Treat. Don't miss it!
This band is was unbelievable! I am a huge music fan and I like Midtown alright but most of their bands are not that great. This band was only three guys but they sounded like 5 or 6 and the singing, guitar playing, and drumming was some of the best I've seen downtown in a long long time. The number of styles that they played was stunning. The song list was also one of the best I've ever heard in Charleston and they just kept the hits coming all night. It also didn't hurt that they seemed to draw mostly mega-hot girls to their show who all danced sexily in front of the stage the whole time. Honestly one of the best bar-band experiences I've had in many many years. I can't for the next show! Bravo!
This event is a blast and for a great cause. Also this year they will be serving FlyLine Wine which has been donated and is fantastic! www.flylinewine.com
Best way to spend your Sunday afternoon! Great music, food, and people!
I had so much fun this year. I can't wait for next year's event!
