Grown Up Avenger Stuff - Wow!!! - What a surprise! Fantastic band (from Charlotte I think?) - Be sure to see them if they ever come back! And of course L Brown Odyssey - a bunch of pro's at rocking out. Can't believe this show was free.
It was our first time going to see the girls and we all had a great time. Our 10 year old boy is in love with the girls, and our 15 year old girl wants to be one. The "siblings" put on a great show. We cheered for the heatbreakers, but quickly realized either of the three teams could be our favorite. The girls have guts! Who know's, maybe Mom (me) will try out for a team. :) Good job girls! We will be back for more.

Shawn Mullins has managed to reinvent himself over the last few years in a way that most musicians only dream of. He is an essential artist for this decade, not only for us here at 1055 the Bridge, (Radio Station) but for Southerners at-large.
If you missed him in the beautiful setting of the 2009 First Flush Festival, here is another opportunity to enjoy him in yet another of Charleston's amazing outdoor settings.
1055 The Bridge along with our great partners Ear For Music and The Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina encourage you to come out Friday evening, June 17 from 5:30 -9:30 to see what we know will be an incredible show. Tickets are $10 at the gate, and we ask you to consider bringing a few dollars for the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston to help us wrap our week-long Radio-thon.

This is a must see event, the artists on Broad street are simple the best you will see, if you have ever gone to an art walk you know the talent. It is the last few days of the Outdoor Expo in Marion square so you know the artists will have their best pieces on show for both events and at the best prices! If you haven't seen Kellie Jacobs wonderful pastel and oil landscapes you are simply doing yourself a disservice. God, I must tell you they are spectacular and for her talent very affordable, go see her at Marion Square on Calhoun Street and at 7 Broad Street, Hamlet Fine Art Gallery all year.
I can't wait to do the booksigning at The Blue Bicycle for my latest novel, "The Secret Child." This place has such a great reputation in the field -- it's a privilege to be one of their signing authors. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. - Marti Healy, Author
Shooter's of Summerville is probably one of the best places to go if your looking for a welcome, down to earth place to hang out with your friends. From their pool tables, darts, killer drinks, their dance floor, and some of the BEST music around, Shooter's makes a great place to stop for a good time. And don't forget to try some of their food, they have great wings, steaks, onion rings and loads more to choice from! Stop in anytime for a great time! This place rocks! But don't just take my word for it go check it out for yourself, you'll have one hell of a time!

Radney's show at the Windjammer last night (May 14) was outstanding!
Does great on covers like Citizen Cope and Bob Marley. And easy on the eyes!
I saw them a Wayneo's April 9, 2011, they are great. Really enjoyed them hope they come back soon. It's worth the money to go see this band. I would highly recommend them.
After your stroll on King Street come for a wander onto Broad Street and check out Gallery Row. So many great opportunities to view and purchase local art. Come to Hamlet Fine Art Gallery ( 7 Broad Street)and see the particularly wonderful pastels by Kellie Jacobs, the fine oils by Stephanie Shuler-Hamlet and Melinda Lewin, and the still life paintings of Pat Forsberg. Come a little further than King Street and open up your horizons.
It holds the power to heal.
If you would like to expand on the downtown garden viewing there are many wonderful fine art galleries on Broad street. Known locally as Gallery Row you can emerse yourself in many differing types of media to thrill any point of view. The Hamlet Fine Art Gallery at 7 Broad Street even has a 18th century garden set up with many wimsical sculptures for the garden buff to admire. Only a very select few galleries in Charleston have such beautiful courtyard gardens so add it to your list of must sees while you are touring. The only cost is the time you spend admiring the charming surroundings!
It's great to have such variety of art in Charleston and such great sponsors of events such as Red Bull. I hope you all come see the photography in Marion square and keep in mind that in a short few months Marion Square will be the venue for many fine artists who exhibit during the Piccolo Spoleto festival, May 28th. 17 days of absolutely wonderful local and regional artists exhibiting there works in tents congregated so all can compare styles media and actually meet with the artists themselves. Such talent as Kellie Jacobs, Stephanie Shuler Hamlet, Melinda Lewin, Pat Forsberg and Anne Woodward to name but a few will be available to ask of their work.Make a date to come support local art and visit the Outdoor Juried Art Exhibition at Marion Square during Spoleto.
I hear this will be fan-tastic!
