Re: “Jamaica Day in the Carolinas

I agree with the previous reviewer--for the price, the wine selection and quantity was disappointing. The people pouring wine kept saying "just a sip"--for $25 there were four tickets--one ticket per 'sip', which was four sips! Add that to the quality of the wine (Yellowtail Shiraz and similar), and clearly this was not a 'wine' event as advertised. Charge $10 and forget the wine (and standard, run-of-the-mill wine glass). This was the first year, so next year might be better. The food and music were good, so the event has some potential, but the wine aspect should be seriously improved or dropped altogether (with a concomitant lowering of price).

Re: “Jamaica Day in the Carolinas

Highly Disappointed! Magnolia, Reggae & Wine sounds like a home run event.Very disappointed: Wine "tastings" wait line is highly offensive to wine drinkers / winos. Why would you say "wine" in your title if you are going to serve it to us like children. Give us one full glass and be done with it. Second, and most important is your event area size and ratio to people coming to your event. Give up the entire field so we aren't crammed into a picnic area with thousands of people. Third, So we are crammed into this area with bad wine, long vendor lines(ran out of "jerk" chk) & People with CASH were able to jump ahead in line because ticket holders were not important enough since we bought them ahead of time. Our family of 4 spent over $60 compared to other Reggae event which is $10 per vehicle. Its is the same amount of music time for both events but huge difference in quality. We love Magnolia & we are annual ticket holders but your event didn't do Magnolia justice. My wife and I were so disappointed(She loves reggae and LOVES wine.

Re: “Ballpark Festival of Beers

I don't think the 1-4 PM event, the "Family Friendly Beer Fest" is still scheduled.

Re: “Cowspiracy Screening: Pre-Register

I went to the East Coast premier a couple weeks ago, and I'm thrilled this is coming to Charleston! I can't wait to see it again. I just pre-registered.

Re: “Karaoke with Jason

I apologize if there was a misunderstanding. Those tickets were given to us, as sponsors of the SC Bulls football team. The tickets printed were for the first game of the season, which was cancelled. The tickets, we were assured, will be honored at any home game this season, just present them at the gate. We are not in the habit of making fools of people, and care greatly about our customers. If there is a problem with them, come see me (Smokey) and we'll make it right. Again, my apologies.

Re: “Evita

Great show! One correction: the Evita at the Dock Street Facebook page does not list a show on Wednesday July 2nd. However, the other dates are correct

The run is hosted by OnShore Racing, not Charleston Running Club. Virginia Wininger is a Race Director at OnShore Racing, not a researcher.

Re: “Karaoke with Jason

Did not appreciate being your childish prank with expired tickets by doing a dance off. I'm a better person than that and only had the intention to have a good time by going to karaoke, not to be humiliated. If this is how you treat people, maybe the comedy house could use you and find your cruel humor funny. I pray for people like you because there are those who are not taught nor raised to understand the terms, "Respect and Consideration for others feelings". There is such called Karma and what you do to others, always comes back to you.
