What a bunch of "losers", living in the past in a distorted version of the past, "Secessionist", those that celebrate treason by wanting to withdraw the from the US.

Cold-blooded, warm-blooded, fur, feathers, fins, scales, shells, skin & insects, whatever, all non-human animals respond/react to pleasure & pain the same as the human animal. Aside from the diversity of life, we are all one on this planet.

Re: “Why don't we call white extremists terrorists?

Atrocities by whites are on the furthest end of a continuum which begins at its least violent with racism in textbooks, continues with the systematic racism of discrimination in employment (including employment compensation, "minimum wage jobs," in other words), through racism in arbitrary stops and arrests by police, higher incarceration rates of minorities, and on to the use of violent police tactics on protesters, and finally the brutality of the Klan and other racists. The latter is part of a SYSTEMATIC form of racist brutality which has been going on since the first African was brought in chains to these shores.
This continuum is subtle in that there is not hiatus between one form of racism and the next, so that in effect, it is hard to say where terrorism really begins, if by "terrorism" you mean the commonly accepted definition of the use of fear to achieve political ends. In practice, though, ALL of these forms reinforce each other, and so focussing a single incident and labeling it terrorism is difficult to do. Especially if your myopia makes it impossible to focus.

Re: “Froufrou white party Dîner en Blanc returns to Charleston

Tres prtentieux, trs idiote! They blocked off Lincoln Center in NYC one year when I had a appointment there in 2012. Boy oh boy, was I royally pissed off. They do this in Madrid too when I am there. Can y'all say paintball rampage? Now that would be great performance ART. Who judges if the food in your picnic basket is comprised of "fine food". What would happen if you pulled out paper plates, fried bologna sandwiches, palmetto cheese with Ritz crackers and moon pies (Chucktown fine dining)? Would you be asked to leave? Would your neighboring diners blow the whistle and point you out? If this benefited a charity like the White Tie & Tiara Ball then Bravo, but it doesn't. Sorry Natty I love ya and I hope you are going to get paid well (deservedly so), but this event is just too white and too silly even for me.

Re: “The biggest name in celebrity hedgehogs, Lionel, lives right here in Charleston

Hedgehogs are nocturnal. This poor baby is being taken outside during the day and disrupting his whole existence. Doesn't seem like a great idea making these little wild animals pets.

Re: “During 'A Day Without Immigrants' strike, we revisit our chat with FIG's Lucy Becerra

Very nice profile of Lucy and her successes in the U.S... Wonderful story. I hope FIG and other local restaurants who have hired legal immigrants are paying them fair and equal wages as compared to non-immigrant employees witb similar experience (19 years, wow!) so hard workers like Lucy can someday visit her family so far away. Also, to keep perspectives balanced, the enhanced security of our US/Mexican borders is NOT intended to prohibit LEGAL immigration...It's to control/stop 'ILLEGAL' immigration/drug trafficking, etc. There is a difference. Not surprised that restaurants are staying open on this one.

Re: “Froufrou white party Dîner en Blanc returns to Charleston

oh how I love going to parties that I don't know where they are until the last minute... that have a very strict dress code of white only, and that require me to bring all my own food ,drink , utensils and even table and table cloth. And when I am forced to only drink champagne or wine when I actually would perfer beer, well that just makes it that much more interesting and keeps out the riff raff. It makes it even more fun when held outdoors and I am required to attend even if it's pouring rain. and when it's restricted to only the same guests from The prior-year....well I love the diversity that comes from that. and since everything is required to be white, I can only assume that applies to the door policy as well.oh what fun... I can't wait to attend.

oh wait ...I hate trendy, self-absorbed crap like this.

it's amazing what bored people will do in the name of fun.

Pass.

Re: “Jeff Sessions brings racist baggage from Senate to AG's office

Let me get this right. In 1974 Sessions made a joke while prosecuting the KKK and now he's a racist? Can you give me any more examples of your racist accusations or is this the only one? How about when Jesse Jackson called Jews hymies, or when Farrakhan continues to call for the death of whites and police? Oh, that's not racism is it? This whole Sessions debacle has become a campaign from the left to degrade a man they disagree with, no different than those who asked for Obama's birth certificate. Talk about alternative facts...

I suppose you were silent when Obama labeled Nidal Hanson's killing a work place shooting instead of terrorism. Just because the left forgets doesn't mean everybody dies.

Re: “Why don't we call white extremists terrorists?

@jadenova. What would make me happy, is if we labeled all white terrorists, TERRORISTS. Labeling all white people terrorists was not what the article conveyed at all, so I invite you to go back and reread and pay attention to the whole article before you make assumptions. If we were making assumptions, your comment seems to scream you are a white supremacist (given your highly white-defensive comment) and I know you don't want to come off like that. It's very important to absorb and comprehend ALL of the facts, which is something we cannot count on with Faux News Entertainment in the loop.

Re: “Why don't we call white extremists terrorists?

Somehow, despite the fact that I'm white, male, and Christian I didn't feel any slight at reading Ms. Parks' denunciation of violent extremists. Probably because I also abhor their actions, feel no kinship with them, believe their "cause" is garbage, and don't feel that impugning the bad actors of my race reflects poorly on my race. Much to the contrary: calling out the other white Americans that seek to use violence and political advantage to harm non-white Americans (and Canadians since it came up) is important for we, the non-violent, non-white-supremacists to do.
