We get it, you're against Trump. No one cares.

Re: “If Charleston doesn't get real about social diversity it's going to feel a world of pain

I agree, take that leap, jump that hurdle, but randomly inviting a nobody or even someone with a personality you don't like is not what we're talking about, right?

Re: “If Charleston doesn't get real about social diversity it's going to feel a world of pain

Great article and 100% on point. Thank you for raising this issue! Sometimes it takes the viewpoint of someone newer to the area to highlight what long-time residents have become accustomed to. We can do better as a city and things definitely need to change.

Re: “If Charleston doesn't get real about social diversity it's going to feel a world of pain

Having grown up in Park Forest, Illinois (suburb 50 miles south of Chicago) during the 70's-80's I can honestly say that my little town over forty years ago was much more progressive than Charleston is now. Currently, I live in Columbia, South Carolina, which is much more inclusive and diverse due to the University of South Carolina's many other transplants. Time to move forward Charleston & talk, no, shout out just how important cultural diversity is by loving and including all from conversations to social events.

Visit North Charleston! Check out Remount rd, so much diversity it'll blow your mind. Also check out America St. I'm sure the people there would love to meet you.

Re: “If Charleston doesn't get real about social diversity it's going to feel a world of pain

I've been a DJ in Chas for a decade now...I can't even count on my hands how many times I've lost gigs because I attract too many black people. One owner of a market st venue actually counts the number of black people that enter.

I have also had white friends at "black" clubs that get verbally harrassed simply for attending. There really is a noticeable diversity and self segregation problem here.

Re: “Charleston Beer Works

The new location is great. Having an outdoor patio to go to out to is great for our running group that meets up there. All the other reviews are out dated and should be removed since they are about it's previous location.

Trump Brags About Using “Other People’s Money” Amidst Reports Of Illegal Charity Spending [VIDEO] https://youtu.be/WCpZyVtiz0s
September 21, 2016 2016 Election, Scandal, Teabagistan

CNN reports:

Donald Trump bragged Tuesday there’s “nothing like” using other people’s money, hours after a report said he used more than $250,000 from his charitable organization to litigate lawsuits against his business interests. Trump, while calling for building safe zones in Syria financed by Gulf states, vaunted the benefits of doing business with “OPM.”

“It’s called OPM. I do it all the time in business. It’s called other people’s money,” Trump said. “There’s nothing like doing things with other people’s money because it takes the risk — you get a good chunk out of it and it takes the risk.”

His comments came on the heels of a Washington Post report published earlier Tuesday, which called attention to Trump’s funneling of contributions from the Donald J. Trump Foundation to charities in order to settle lawsuits against Trump. Trump has only sparsely contributed to his foundation. Instead, the foundation is largely funded by outside donors — not Trump himself.

Re: “This meat-eater is just a big fat guilt-ridden hypocrite

I don't know why diet has to be an all-or-nothing proposition. If you're concerned about meat consumption, just eat less meat. We could all stand to eat more vegetables and smaller portions in general, even as people that love bacon and burgers and wings and tenderloins and BBQ. Lower the demand for cheap meat, animal welfare should improve as the cut-rate producers lose volume that keeps them in business.

Re: “This meat-eater is just a big fat guilt-ridden hypocrite

It's really not that hard to go vegan. If the author is not, she should consider it. Heck, you can start vegetarian or make small steps. If you can't stomach the idea that animals had to die for you to eat them, you shouldn't be eating them. I have been a vegan for over 2 years, Veg for over 4. When I started, I was surprised how easy it was to replace meat with beans or veggies in my usual dishes, and it still tasted great.

I would imagine that it will be illegal to sell wine to both dogs and mice and that the presence of either could be generally disruptive.
