Re: “The Muppets

This movie hits the spot for old fans and new. The cast-- human and Muppet alike-- nailed it from the beginning to the end. I still can't get the "Manamana!" song out of my head!

Re: “Atlas Shrugged: Part 1

For this movie, the issue is not the actors, direction or budget of the film. Don't let those get in the way of the message of the film. Rand somehow predicted today's situation, with too much government interference and too little personal responsibility. We are living this book today. It is one of the most important books written in the last 60 years. Read it. Now.

Very important for all of us to see! Take control of what you and your family eat and vote with your money!

We have one of the most valuable resources here in Charleston - several farmers markets.

Re: “(500) Days of Summer

This movie was great. It was a realistic take on modern relationships, but also sweet and heartwarming. I laughed out loud and almost cried, all within an hour or so. It also had me singing sounds from the Smiths, which are featured on the soundtrack and in some of the movie dialogue for at least 3 days.

Re: “Inception

Amazing movie that keeps you guessing. The ending will have the entire theater gasping, guaranteed. The only way it would've been better... 2 letters.. 3D.

Re: “City Island

Love this film! Coming from NY in the City Island area, I have to say this movie really hits the mark. The entire cast, led by Andy Garcia, is fantastic. The story line is fun and the family dysfunction is relatable to most who are willing to admit it.
Go see this movie. You won't be sorry.

Re: “The Hangover

one of the funniest movies of the year, the hangover definitely gives way to the old adage 'what happens in vegas, stays in vegas!' following the exploits of 4 friends in vegas for a bachelor party, the hangover leaves you laughing hysterically at each twist and turn and leaves you wondering 'what could possibly happen next?!'

Re: “Orphan

Great movie. Not horror...Suspense. You have no idea what the twist is and believe me, you'll be shocked. The acting is good and the story line is shocking and fast paced. I would recommend.

Re: “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Lives up to the title "sequel." If you liked the first one, you'll like Revenge of the Fallen.

Re: “Inception

Good movie, but not amazing. Worth watching, but not worth paying 8$ or more on. Here's why:

There were solid performances by most of the actors, though Ellen Page's character seemed to understand everything a little too quickly. I suppose Nolan needed someone to deliver expositions to the audience, and the quirky little girl from Juno was the best bet. The fact that I hate Juno also didn't help me swallow her performance.

I really enjoyed the soundtrack, even if it consisted of a lot of single bass notes that sounded like the spaceship from District 9. At least there weren't any obnoxious indie band songs like in Juno; what an awful movie.

The plot was complicated, but it was nothing that you couldn't hammer out a reasonable explanation for with a little thought (stay sober, people). It certainly was more stimulating than anything a washed-up ex-stripper could hammer out.

The end had everyone in my theatre groaning, not gasping. If you want to see a damned complicated movie, watch Primer. Good luck figuring out what's going on with *that one* in one viewing.

Anyway, decent movie. Juno still sucks my balls.
