Perry is the real thing--a true, consistent fiscal and social conservative, a successful long-term governor, and a good man. Perry 2012!
Folks, it all depends on what you want your Federal Government to do. If you would like your Federal Government to continue to expand in all areas of Federal debt, Federal spending and intrusion into your liberties and personal choices, then take your pick of Mitt, Newt, or President Obama. If you would like a Federal government that reduces its intrusion into your life, and reduces actual spending (as opposed to projecting smaller future increases and calling them "cuts" a la Mitt, Newt, etc) and which recognizes the constraints set forth in the Constitution by the founders of our nation, then the only choice is Ron Paul. While I do not agree with everything he proposes, I believe he is the only one who will actually correct our government's course. For specifics (as requested by artrogue), visit his website or check his long voting record in Congress. Ron Paul is the only candidate providing specific plans. The other are long on talk (and I admit that that Romney is a much stronger public speaker than Ron Paul), but short on specifics and short on a consistent history of standing on principles.
As one of the participants in the work group that raised the issue of a Mt P school distict, I find it disappointing that this article latched onto that as a key issue. It was barely discussed (not enough time) and, although the facilitators did a great job, it wasn't actually voted on. A small, vocal minority tossed it out there and in the crunch of time to report out the work group results, it was included in the "top three." I did not consider it a viable option for most of the reasons stated in the article. In the 90+ minutes for the meeting, the discussion on a separate Mt P school district took less than 30 seconds. Obviously it's a hot button issue so I can see why the reporter sensationalized it, but it's sad to see the article focus on that instead of some of the other great ideas brought out.
Nobody sent me to this site to pump up RP. I do it because it's important to the survival of our nation. Please visit kookyronpaul dot com to see what changed my mind about Dr. Paul. There's great info on that site that you and your kids won't learn in school.
Citizens of South Carolina. Please visit and pass along: Kookyronpaul dot com. This not-for-profit website has some great videos, articles, and info beneficial to all regardless of political affiliation. I urge you to take a peek at the site before you decide who you'll be voting for.
Oh, come on...we know Jack Hunter works for the City Paper and Ron Paul!
Mt. Pleasant would do well to have its own school district.
More entitled? You want to see a school district crash and burn? Wow, pretty strong remarks from someone with children of her own.
They should get it, not because they deserve, but so they can see it crash and burn without enough funding, and see that their kids aren't at all as special as they think, just more entitled.
Ron Paul's people sure are organized. They were obviously sent to this site to pump up the vote for their guy.
A vote for Romney is a vote for more of the Wall Street policies that got our country into this financial mess. Gingrich, Santorum and Paul are all Washington insiders - they are part of the problem too. Rick Perry is the only outsider who hasn't been tainted by Washington or K street. Perry has the executive experience and conservative principles that will get America working again!
Never avoiding anything. :) Sometimes i'm not here. ha
Your original post said NO republicans had any ideas. Thats just not true. The bills i listed are serious ideas put forward as bills by elected Republican office holders. It is just not true when The President says they put foward No proposals. He just ignores them and plays to his base. He has his own agenda and really doesn't care anything about getting along with anyone.
I was actually hoping the individual posters who support any particular candidate would post the links you request.
You didn't address any of my questions either or make a comment.
Soylindra!
My focus is the defeating of the President and his far left agenda.
When the Republicans have a final candidate, i'll do more serious research.
Come on Ron Paul supporters, Lets see how you can answer Fish Pimp !?!?!
Just admit they have no ideas, already. Stop avoiding the question. All I'm asking for is a link to one specific policy proposal that's been scored by the CBO from any of the Republican candidates on any issue facing America. Why is that so hard?
So you believe Dr. Ron Paul has no health care reform ideas compared to the President?
We Americans have given federal, state and local governments the right to interfere with any aspect of our lives when it comes to issues of health. So should we be surprised when an emboldened Congress enacts Obamacare, even though most American were against it, that not only mandates that we purchase health insurance but will eventually control virtually every aspect of our health care? Should we be surprised when government tells us what food to give our children? Should we be surprised when government taxes soft drinks in the name of fighting obesity? Should we be surprised when governments order restaurants not to serve foie gras or cook with trans fats? If you think government has the right to look after our health, how far would you have it go? How about a congressional mandate for morning calisthenics, eight glasses of water a day and eight hours of sleep each night?
Where does it end?
What is enough?
Artrogue, you don't seem to understand the difference between a candidate and a party. Those old unsupported House bills from 2009 are not the same thing as a comprehensive plan by each of the Republican candidates for President of the United States in 2012. Show me a health care plan submitted to the CBO by a Republican candidate for president. Until we see real plans from these candidates, there is no differentiation between them and no accountability for the eventual winner. As I've said before, Republicans preach responsibility for everyone else but themselves.
You have not provided a single example of a detailed solution offered by any Republican candidate to any of our current problems. You continue to try to change the subject to Obama because the Republican CANDIDATES have no ideas. The Republican Party as a whole is intellectually bankrupt and none of the CANDIDATES have demonstrated the leadership ability to unite their party let alone run the country.
Underpants Gnome Plan for America:
1. Cut taxes for the rich
2. ??????
3. Jobs!
Rick Santorum's School Scandal
How the public-school-loathing GOP candidate used Pennsylvania's taxpayer dollars to school his kids in Virginia.
Santorum is a public LEACH.
You do your research. The republicans have offered numerous plans since the President has taken office.
HR 4038
HR 2520
The biggest difference is Republicans try to deal with one thing the President never seems to take into account. How will we pay for anything?
The President has one agenda get re-elected and help the democratic party stay in power and the only way he can see it happening is make sure his core base keeps getting all the entitlements he can push thru. He can't win on his record.
Hence my previous reference to bread and circuses. Keep the common folk happy with all the entitlements you can push and figure out the bill later. One thing the Republican Candidate will never say. But i see no other alternative..the President is no doubt a Socialist. Thats fine if thats what you desire.
I'm a free market capitalist all the way. I see that as what built our republic and the best way for a free people to exist. The more you ask the state to do for you the less liberty you have. We will never agree.
