Not worth the money, won't be back.
I've been there for breakfast just about monthly since they opened, and I love, love, love their bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos. The portions are large, and they don't skimp on the more expensive parts of the recipe (lox, et cetera).
My only knock on them is that the ordering/service flow isn't logical and sometimes that means a while before your order is taken. But it is never really a "problem."
Overall: big fan.
The real deal in Charleston Metro ! First, this is the ONLY DELI THAT PREPARES ITS OWN ROAST BEEF, ROAST TURKEY AND CORNED BEEF ON PREMISES. Hot Corned Beef is THE BEST WITHIN 822 miles [NYC]. Secondly, the portions are so large, it is not unusual to see folks rewrapping 1/2 sandwich for later.
Nearby Southern Season Deli and its piggish ownership took over the parking lot but patrons of MOZZO have not been deterred. They keep streaming in for lunch through to 4pm closing. So. Season Deli charges the same or more for sandwiches less than half the size + certainly of much lower quality.
MOZZO bread & salads are fresh-made. MOZZO ROCKS !!
Just want to say diamonds management was rude to me and my friends went in the middle of the week the place was dead as a door nail. The dancers were boring as hell we decided to make the best of it we were dancing and laughing having fun. The 2 guys even paid for a lap dance. The other friends were female the manager told us we had to leave because we were dancing and we needed to have a license to dance to the music. I ask you what kind of crap is that. Well my friend was better looking and sexier then any stripper in the place. They got are money then kicked us oit . do not ever go to diamonds the manager would not even speak to us my friend tried apologizing for dancing to the music he was a creep. The place is a dump with rooms in the back where they do god knows what. There thieves they made sure we spent a bunch of money then kicked us out for dancing. Idiots the place is disqusting.I. hope they get closed down most likely they will go out of business first oH yeah every single girl had cellulite up the ass.
We went to The Southerly early one week day evening to avoid witnessing a kitchen under pressure. We ordered several signature dishes [ according to the waitperson ]. The ambience, furnishings, and waitpersons' uniforms speak upscale. The general presentation seems to convey southern cooking with proprietary treatments. Our order included 2 Budweisers. We also ordered Butternut Squash Soup, BBQ Chips, Roasted Beets, Fresh Fish Catch of The Day, Pork & Beans, and Buttermilk Fritters. The service pace was moderate -- not prompt. The dishes served were between warm and hot. Quality was good, though not remarkable. What struck us was Okra Grill up the street can generate soup and entree equally as good -- without the upscale ambience -- for 1/3rd the price. Our evening cost $103.19 for 2 with tax and 20% tip. If folks want this nature of food there are better places like Vickery's which will cost 70% the price. OR, go to Langdon's where the food is much better, the ambience is slightly nicer, and the prices are comparable. The Southerly is a nice old ladies tea room with ramped up prices. Not recommended.
Best Pizza I have EVER had (besides when living in Rome!)
I shared a couple of pizzas with two friends recently and they were intersting artisan pizzas and the setting at the big tables was nice. I will go again - price was on higher side but all and all I found it to be a good experience.
No, Linda. There is clearly an organized effort behind what you're doing. You do realize, don't you, that you post after every positive comment or any curious comment about your negative fixation on Halls?
After 2 seconds' worth of searching, I found this:
434 King St., Charleston, SC 29403
93 visitor photos
Ranked #1 of 695 restaurants in Charleston
4.5 of 5 stars 825 Reviews
Travellers' Choice award winner Travellers' Choice® 2013 Winner Restaurants
Heh. So out of nearly 700 Charleston restaurants reviewed on Trip Advisor, 825 people volunteered to mention it's the best restaurant in town.
You're really going to have to ramp up your efforts to smear Halls on a larger scale if you'd like to have any effect at all.
Those are tourists sites and plenty of tourists have bought into Halls, no argument there. The vast majority of locals dissaprove of Hall's. That's why on a locals site you have a overwhelmingly negative opinion of Hall's. If those people went there more than once or twice or talked to locals who know the place and the family, they would obviously have a different opinion of the place. Plus, you are grossly exagerating that there are no negative reviews there, just not as many. Hall's has a well known negative reputation in Charleston, that's why so many locals avoid the place.
It is hard to believe that any place could be this bad and survive so I looked at yelp and trip advisor and there is not one single negative review nor one negative comment about the family.
In fact the reviews are glowing. something's fishy here.
horrible place, food is sucks, service is slow. i was there yesterday to watch halloween contest. i do not f.. believe that winners had no costumes won. Judges eliminated really good costumes like everybody's favorite rednecks couple. i believe winners were friends with bar stuffs or judges. worst halloween contest ever ever ever. highly not recommended. place needs to shut down.
Notice everytime there is a poor review by a real person on here, a Hall or a member of their staff will pop up with a magical 5 star review, look at the pattern. Just look at the top comments about Hall's and the number of people who agree with the comment (like it) to know who is running the fake campaign here. And that would be you.
Tried to enjoy an evening out at my first visit to Pierpont Pub on Hwy.61,
but when I arrived there, a brawl was taking place just outside
their front entrance and I had driven all the way
from Adams Run to get there as I had heard that
a really god Band "THE HOWLIN' PACK" was playing there that night.
I used to would have just overlooked all that kind of mayhem in
my younger days, but not anymore...what with all the goings ons these days.......
Maybe I'll try it again 'cause I see the Howlin' Pack is scheduled to play
there again this year....I believe in November 2013..!!..!!....and a friend
told me that the food there is quite good.
The joint needs a lot of work...Pizza isn't the best....Who can judge pizza? Everyone likes something different....They make it too difficult to eat in.......They cannot cook a pizza in 60 seconds, if you need to eat it....
Seems like someone in town has organized a campaign to attack Hall's on this board, (Charleston is still a very small town-not surprised at this). I've been there four times and found both the service and the food to be excellent. Special requests were handled were handled with alacrity. Found the family members to be very nice. Would definitely go again.
I thought this place would be awesome because it smelled so good inside and its off the beaten path away from the typically overpriced restaurants you find downtown. Pizza was okay, a bit burnt, but was way overpriced for the location. You can't buy pizza by the slice and you can't remove any ingredients so don't go here if you are a vegetarian. When I asked why you couldn't add/remove ingredients the manager or owner said it was complicated ... ? They should do a better job explaining this one if my pizza can't be free to be the pizza it wants to be. The girl at the front desk also joked that all the ovens have different "personalities" some like to burn the pizza, some undercook it, and some are just right. I got the burnt one.
The layout was awkward and lacked atmosphere. Waited 10 minutes for the girl at front desk to make a cannoli and then she forgot to make it with the other customers cannoli's. All and all it left a lot to be desired, like my cannoli that I didn't get.
This company provided me with a brand new heating and air system for thousands less than different corporations quoted. i'm terribly pleased with the service and expertness. i was therefore happy, I hooked them up with employment for my neighbor. you'll be able to contact http://simmcohvac.com/ for services.
So...Teddy. Why write anything at all?
This restaurant closed temporarily and has now re-opened. My wife & I went there many times before it closed and always enjoyed it. We have not been back since re-opening so can't comment on how it is now.
Yes, do beware of the oil change special. Additional fees are added. The place seems sorta like a used car lot with the only thing missing is the polyester suit. You can get the same service for less up the street at Precision, or Firestone, or HIlls.
