Re: “Summer etiquette from an enlightened caveman

I have a question for your legal eagle buddy. While at a Golden Corral, I witnessed a 'young person' stick a chicken leg under the wonderful flow of chocolate at the chocolate fountain, place it in his mouth to lick the chocolate off the salty friend chicken leg, and then reinsert the chick piece under the flow of chocolate for a flavor refill, doing this several times before the leg gave up the meat leaving him only a bone which he promptly let fall to the floor. Does this constitute a 'double dip'? I think not since the dip technically flowed over the chicken rather than the chicken being dipped into a stagnant pond of chocolate. I realize that the chocolate is then pumped back up to the top to continue its flow to the bottom once again, but the legal point is that the chicken was not dipped? But I defer to his legal knowledge.

Re: “Smith Street Pizza (formerly Norm's) shutters after three months in business

The menu change was definitely the problem. Norm's was a treasure because it delivered a large variety at a low price point. Maybe not the best food, but cheap and fast and lots of options arriving right at your door.

I ordered from Norm's at least once a month, and noticed immediately that Smith Street's menu lacked anything other than pizza and a few hoagies- something I can get from a variety of other places.

Most of trump's administration started out with unsecured and personal servers and only changed after being exposed, so hypocrisy anyone?

Re: “What we can learn from Turkey's regime

First correction: these are no Americans, but Turkish and Syrian citizens holding a US residents permit. Don't make it sound like they are US citizens. Secondly, these people are terrorists or supporters of terrorists who found a safe ground in the US, and this should be your first question: how is it possible that the US allows these people to enter the US.

Furthermore, if the US has all the rights to attack any terrorist or perceived terrorists in the world, Al Qaida, Taliban, Saddam, Khaddafi, Asad, or threaten countries and leaders of countries, then Turkey has every right to hit back on their terrorists. Anywhere in the world. I can't put it more simpler and clearer.

Re: “Mayor of New Orleans makes the case for removing Confederate monuments

A great American once said"Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death".
Another note is: The Confederate Flag had "nothing" to do with "slavery" & therefore was "not" "racist".

Re: “Mayor of New Orleans makes the case for removing Confederate monuments

As a father of three wonderful children who are all successful citizens,I have a philosophy of life & one of many.
When educating our children,we don't "remove" an object that they are fond of or "not"fond of,for they will always wonder "why" Mom & Dad did this. What we do is "EDUCATE" them on why this is what it is & what it means to "history"or to "anything".
This is what we call education not brainwashing.

Trey Gowdy is a skirt lifting coward
He places the GOP before country
Our President has an open love affair with Russia
and it appears he is going to play party
An unsecured email is starting to sound a little insignificant

Re: “How to Rid Your House of No-See-Ums

My neighbor was so ferociously bitten by no-see-ums, that he confessed to me the ill effect it had on him. He claims that the following day while riding public transportation to work -- he had a sudden, uncontrollable urge to sit on other men's laps while singing Julie Andrew's songs. Is it possible that the bites affected his brain's chemistry? I just find it so bizarre.

Re: “Woman who dressed as dinosaur, startled carriage horses surrenders to police

Why else would she be in the costume if it were not to scare the horses to cause an accident? She was asked three times to stop and continued the act. She should be brought up on charges of terrorism. She caused injury, and put the passengers lives in jeopardy. She disrupted a legitimate touring business, that is licensed through the city and state. And left the scene of an accident that she caused.

Re: “CARTA isn't an attractive option for most car owners — but it could be

The idea that buses in Charleston reduce traffic is a myth perpetuated by the people who stand to profit. At any time, only a few people are riding a bus. The buses are mostly empty. Next time you pull up next to one, peer inside and see how many people are actually in it. How many people do you see at an average bus stop? less than 5. Also, I'd like someone to do a real cost benefit analysis. Take the total cost to operate CARTA (overhead, personnel, capital equipment, fuel, operations) and divide it by the number of passenger trips. I bet it isn't any lower than a uber ride. It'd probably be cheaper to subsidize people's uber/taxi rides than operate this large, inefficient, behemoth bus company with its unionized employees and overhead and wasteful spending. It makes sense to operate the bus lines downtown, but the area is spread out with islands everywhere, connected with bridges, all making it highly inefficient to operate bus lines. Last time I rode on CARTA, people would try to get on and pay with pennies and nickels, wasting our time. Other times, people would try to beg their way on for free and hold up the rest of us. No wonder the buses can't get anywhere on time. Bums and people trying to count out pennies to the bus driver at every stop! And the buses hold up traffic, driving slow and making frequent stops.

With regard to Gowdy's heading the oversight committee, it's like asking the "fox to guard the henhouse."
