Re: “Strom Thurmond and Ben Tillman's legacies surfaced as Elizabeth Warren read Coretta Scott King's words in the Senate

The allegations against Sessions were debunked long ago except for those who use the word racism ad nauseam.

Your hit and run trolling has gotten old and repetitive. Session is now you're attorney general, deal with it.

Re: “Strom Thurmond and Ben Tillman's legacies surfaced as Elizabeth Warren read Coretta Scott King's words in the Senate

Sessions was considered too racist to be a judge in the freaking 80s. Think about that for a minute. And he had the support of Strom Thurmond. Think about that as well. Then again, if his supporters had the ability to think, he probably wouldn't be our new Attorney General.

Re: “A letter from an Iranian American to Charleston

"Until enough of them 'Don't want to' and then the country is no longer free. You get to swear fealty to Chairman Mao, or 'Lil Kim' of North Korea. If people do not wish to 'swear fealty' to their country, they will not defend it, and when they will not defend it, you simply hand it off to those who will fight to take it"

Can someone translate this for me? I'm not fluent in incoherent.

so is "Lil Kim" a racial slur equating the leader of North Korea to a Black female HipHop star?

"Second or third post on the authors facebook page is about not saying the pledge of allegiance. Don't like it here, haul ass back to Iran"

Why is this always the retort to certain people who point out our country's problems? Trump's campaign slogan was literally about how America currently sucks. Why did none of them follow their own advice and leave?

And what is up with the obsessions over the pledge of allegiance? Who gives a shit? People standing in unison swearing fealty to a country is something North Korea does. The lovely thing about the freedom everyone claims to love is that no one has to do that faux-patriotic bullshit if they don't want to...yet.

Re: “A letter from an Iranian American to Charleston

You can love your country and dislike it's government. Second or third post on the authors facebook page is about not saying the pledge of allegiance. Don't like it here, haul ass back to Iran. Also you can thank dear leader Obama for the refugee crisis. Read up on his bombings of the sandbox.

When The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion came out in 1992 I had an epiphany on the profound scale. It blew my mind and listened to it every day that whole summer and fall. I am so glad to see Chris hasn't changed. He is very inspiring to me as a musician. Thanks so much for everything Chris Robinson!!!

What a demagogue this Baltimore hack is. Absolutely hysterical. Maybe he ought to drill in on the racial problems in his home Democrat-run war-zone.

Re: “A letter from an Iranian American to Charleston

Of course you think an interstate ban on travel for AMERICAN CITIZENS you don't agree with politically would make MORE SENSE than a temporary travel ban on non-citizens for the purposes of vetting them. It makes more sense to you, because you have first loyalties that precede your loyalty to America. And it makes more sense to you... because you're pretty much JUST LIKE the people you indict for acting just like you do (except none of them are proposing internal travel bans on American citizens).

Re: “A letter from an Iranian American to Charleston

Yeah.... let's ban fear. Anything else you want to ban? It sounds like you have a lot of things you want to ban and "fix" about your adopted homeland. I'm really afraid of what lengths you would go to, to ban fear. All we need in this country is a few million more people like you. It's pretty obvious you despise this country. Why don't you immigrate to Iran. Just walk across the border and demand they remake the society to coddle your delicate sensibilities. Good luck with that.

I just find it sad that CP can't find a local to put out these opinions. They had to bring in a ringer from Baltimore.

Re: “A letter from an Iranian American to Charleston

"It is not about hating immigrants or refugees, but hating the enemies and criminals who created the refugee situation"

So you hate the United States? How soon we forget history. We had to go and destabilize Iraq in an international dick measuring contest. Saddam Hussein, bastard that he was, kept a tight lock on the reactionaries in the region (and was also a convenient ally when we butted heads with Iran). But we had to get rid of him, which created a power vacuum. And in the chaos, ISIS was able to thrive, leading to further destabilization in Iraq and Syria, leading to the refugee crisis.

We have a moral obligation to help these people. We caused this mess. The inability of Americans and our government to own up to these harmful behaviors comprises most of the reasons we have to deal with this bullshit. But keep on keepin' on. I'm sure America will be great again in no time.

These apartments are still affordable. It's just that the people who can afford them are more in tune with The Brand.

Hey! I'm a white female Virginia transplant, and hell yes, I'll have a beer with you. Not much scares me except for mindless hatred, and the only way to counter that is to reach out to each other. Thank you for doing that!

Er, not you pal if that is where you are coming from.

"where demagogues have the power to dictate our laws, education, economics, and what people can do with their own bodies and in their own personal lives (and think, too) - IS SHARIA LAW!

When one speaks the truth in matters of faith, one gets censured, even at CCP. Let's see if this one gets thru - STET or DEL?
