As the solicitors cry foul to Beatty's speech saying he is biased, me thinks they protest WAY too much. He stated he was against corrupt solicitors, not ETHICAL solicitors. If the thirteen solicitors were acting in an ethical manner, they would have nothing to complain about. Given their response, they are incriminating themselves and need to be voted OUT because, clearly they cannot be trusted since they are fighting oversight. Starting with Ms. Wilson, of course.
I thought SC did not have a health insurance exchange. What is this site linked to above?
Scrap it and implement something that will save people money. For everyone who will be getting subsidized coverage there are just as many more who are going to be charged a lot more in premiums and not be able to afford health insurance. Waste of time and money for something that has been predicted to be and proved to be a complete failure in doing what it was sold to do.
don't forget lowcountry artist market on saturday for free at the music farm 10-3!
Just use schealthconnector.org. No reason to fumble with the .gov site or make a trip downtown.
Great Job Chef Frank and the entire SNOB team. You all should be so proud, and places with such pride are why the Market district is such a fabulous place! From ken and the Burwell's Team... way to go!
Good to see some additional enrollment options for Charleston area residents. I have a FREE quote engine available at my website that will estimate subsidies and show all premiums for all available plans at: http://schealthconnector.org/south-carolin…
This was vacant office space that the city of Charleston offered for free - it is not being paid for by federal tax money.
Yes. Everything; everywhere; any time.
Accelerate through the speed-humps. Hit horse-drawn carriages and pedi-cabs.
Bring back Bull Street Gourmet, because the new place fucking sucks.
Put the F/A-18 back on the front of the Yorktown.
Please clean Colonial Lake now.
"The truth is we should be absolutely honest about our nation's history, and we should never whitewash it for the masses, no matter how good it makes us feel." etc . So when do you begin? And when do you start calling out your other likeminded peers?
This seems like expensive real estate for a taxpayer funded initiative. Also the location is inconvenient to those that would be signing up for ACA coverage. Typical fed government move-no business sense.
24. 7. 365. Everything. Everywhere.
And buy liquor at the grocery store.
And get rid of the damn "speed humps".
Last time I checked, Clemson is a state school with a head coach making upwards of 2 million dollars (per year) in tax-payer money. Although I wasn't asked my opinion of how my tax dollars are spent, I certainly think that winning football games should be the coach's first or second priority - along with molding his players into respectable, thoughtful men. In no way should the coach (or any state employee) be focused on bringing players closer to god/jesus with my tax dollars. I know the line separating church and state is often non-existent in South Carolina (and much of the south), but for football fans everywhere, Clemson needs to start focusing more on the 12 games each year rather than the 12 apostles.
God is at it again.
This article is total propaganda to put more $$$$ in the pockets of the "MAN". If you are not an owner then you are a slave. It's really all about exploiting a new crop of laborers, always has been. First it was indentured white servants, then blacks, then women and now Mexicans and others of South America descent. Once the exploited group gets some political power, then it will be on to a different group for the "MAN" to exploit. Race does NOT matter to the "MAN", it's all about which group is the easiest to exploit. For the "MAN" who, criminally prostitutes Russian girls up in Myrtle to Coal Mining in the Appalachian Mountains, it's all about economics to the "MAN" and I say fuck the "MAN"!
"Talk about government interference with free enterprise."
I don't understand the marketing push that "good" food is food that is locally grown. Fresh local broccoli still smells like farts and tastes like ass. Why do I want to eat trash fish and small, fragile strawberries? No, I think I'd rather have the choice chops that actually taste good from whatever geographic area has a comparative advantage in producing those products rather than the parts of locally raised animals that require lots of dressing up in the kitchen to make palatable. You can keep your tripe.
Ever notice that the food at Husk never quite tastes as good as you expected?
Talk about government interference with free enterprise.
Foreign workers' are here to work and send money home so they can have a better life when they return. Their wage scale is different, and that's one of the benefits to hiring them.
Perhaps they can't afford basic hipster staples like gourmet coffee and iPhones and that's fine.
