Re: “The smoky meats are promising, but some of Swig & Swine's dishes could use improvement

You must have gone on a bad day. While I kind of agree with the judgement of the wings and the ribs, the brisket and smoked turkey were to die for. I could barely move the brisket from the platter to my tray and ended up using my hands because because it was falling apart and unbelievably juicy. And the turkey... I'll start by saying I'm not really a fan of turkey - but this, this was something else. There was so much flavor and it ended up being one of my favorite meats. And the pork belly. The pork belly was amazing. Looking at it I wasn't too sure, but after taking a bite I was hooked. The only thing that was a bit dry to me was the ribs. I can't even comment on dessert because I couldn't save room for it with all the delicious meat in front of my face. The sides were good (we chose baked beans, mac n cheese, and coleslaw), the baked beans were definitely the favorite. I would highly recommend this place as it is some of the best BBQ I've ever had.

Gosh, Ron is so smart. If we would all just listen to him, he has all the answers. Kind of makes you think his actually life is in disarray because all he does is nah say everything and has stupid "solutions" to everyone's problems. He must have plenty of free time to comment on everybody's articles.

Re: “Local chainsaw artist and Bikers for Trump founder promises ‘wall of meat’ at Trump inauguration

"Wall of meat" really had me thinking of a nice BBQ spread for some reason, but he's going for a human shield concept to backup the police doing crowd control. I'm sure the coordinated Metro PD are really looking forward to it. Fortunately Trump canned the General in charge of the event security effective during the ceremony, so they'll have other distractions to handle.

This is a really strange time we've come to. Good luck, neighbor, enjoy being weird in a group.

Re: “Participating in the Women's March on Washington? Make posters at The Junction Friday night

You liberal women are so tolerant. Make sure you bring that sign with an X over the fetus.

The New Wave Feminists has been unceremoniously expelled from the list of participants at the upcoming Womens March on Washington, once organizers discovered that the group did not adhere to the strict pro-abortion requirement for marchers.
New Wave Feminists had been chosen as an official partner of the Jan. 21 Womens March on Washington, until the Atlantic magazine revealed that the group believes in the right to life of unborn children.

Re: “Let the Yorktown remind us of the fight for religious freedom

So much anger and disrespect in these comments and is a direct result of the obvious anger and disrespect we've been seeing out of our pres-elect for the last 24 months. I agree that if you don't believe in abortion as a tenet, then you should not be forced to fund something that goes against that. And the SCOTUS agreed and shut down the fines associated with failure to comply. Obama agreed and those that are insured through employment in these "religious" organizations can now find funding thru the feds when their own insurance does not cover the procedure. So there is no need to get terse or act of children here.
http://thelittlesistersofthepoor.com/#supr…

We surely need to come together, but shutting down an institution which is the very foundation of the USA's existence (immigration - Natives were the only inhabitants when our fore-fathers came to these shores) based on one's religious beliefs is not the way to do it. Isolationism will ultimately spell doom for this country and put us in much greater peril because we are no longer able to gather intelligence effectively so that we can protect ourselves. Isolationism is re-treating, like waving the white flag or cowering in the corner, locking doors (building walls) and hiding behind them. You can't see what's happening on the other side, so we are not able to prepare to defend ourselves. We must engage in the interests of national security.

We've got to find a way to coexist and respect one another because otherwise, this will devolve into mass chaos. I already feel unsafe now because of the rising bigotry, and that is not in line with the "Pursuit of Happiness" that the "Declaration of Independence" granted.

I would hope that our newly elected President, would seek to block DANGEROUS people regardless of their origins or beliefs, because the non-extreme of each faith far outnumbers the extreme so we need to vet everyone (as we do now) to separate the extremists and deal with them accordingly.

"In the event that we are needed, we certainly will form a wall of meat"

The only way you and the other meatheads are needed is to be used as pawns, ignorantly and willfully being turned against those who should be your brothers and sisters in humanity, instead opting for a false solidarity with people who will never help you, who will never give a shit about you, and who will destroy the very fabric of the country you claim to love so much.

Re: “Proposed changes could increase workforce housing requirements in Charleston

Property owners and developers seem to be pretty upset about this. You know, the people that don't have to commute over an hour each way downtown and spend 10-20% of their wages on parking alone? "Kick the can down the road a while and see what happens then," they seem to be saying. What open disdain for the working-class (read: not bums, miscreants, or any other humans-as-blight boogeymen that strike such fear into the wealthy) that power this service-industry city!

Re: “How not to depict Trump-wave feminism

Okay so the cover-heroine is white and blonde, and that's an honest hit. However: "highly sexualized, with proportions that could confound even the doll makers at Mattel" leaves me confused. No pinched-hourglass figure, no over-rounded bottom, no video-game breasts... she's even wearing full-length sleeves and pants, and the pants aren't just colored legs! And as CityDweller pointed out: Trump looks like that image in his wildest fever dreams alone, which based on a variety of data points is his general mindset.

The cape, however? Has no one ever heard of Edna Mode?

Re: “Has Trump kickstarted a new wave of feminist activism?

Such nonsense. If anything, Trump is the best possible leader for American women. While they are preoccupied with silly issues like "manspreading" and "free-bleeding" and bathrooms for transsexuals, meanwhile the REAL issues creep up on women like Syrian men organizing flash-mobs to gang-rape women in the cultural rite called "taharrush gamea". Trump is your greatest guarantee against these real problems. Don't let all of the U.S. be a repeat of Cologne, Germany on New Year's Eve 2015.
