if it is anything like their performance ( or lack there of) at skinfull you're in for a disappointment! You can definitely call these girls divas. Devere refused to perform while other acts were performing on other stages (if anyone has ever been to skinfull you understand there are about 10 stages going non stop all night long) She stood arms crossed and pouted while people stood in wait for something to happen. This isn't the first time I've had the unfortunate chance to catch their show. Deveres "I smell something stinky" expression on stage is most likely her smelling her own terrible personality! Two thumbs down!
Last year was incredible! I think there had to be 2,000 people there, the decor was stunning and the music was great. It sounds like this year's is going to be even better. I can't wait!!
I heard from many people that last years Platinum Ball was a blast and I'm looking forward to a great time this year at the 2012 Platinum Ball!!
Best NYE Event in Charleston! Can't wait for the Platinum Ball 2012!!!!
Which stores are participating in the American Express one time offer for Small Business Saturday?
Sure to be a good time, outside and inside seating available (inside seating is first come first serve). Call 843-216-2690 with any questions!
Check out this blast from Tuesday's Fillmore Miami Beach show: http://bit.ly/vpXvMe
This not a vampire of True Blood or Twilight; this Dracula is a monster; a truly self-obsessed demon. This production is surprisingly different and brilliantly adapted for the stage by William McNulty. The actors are superb and the sets are sound and technically effective. I plan to see it again. Bravo to the beautiful Dock Theater.
The Reverend was on his game tonight at the music farm! Great tunes, in chronological order from each of his cd's-with an encore to thrill even the most seasoned concert goer. Never have I seen the main act humiliate the worst fan and then jump in the crowd after him-proclaiming that he must be thrown out (which he was) after he sprayed beer on a guest singer (singing Motorhead "ace of spades"...of course). Beers up to a great showman and doer of good deeds!!
Charleston is in for a great evening! Wish i could be there. This young woman has been looked over in the industry and i just pray to God that her time has TRULY come! If i were in Charleston, i wouldn't miss it!!!
Our new website is WWW.queenstreetgrocerycafe.com
Yay Quail!! So glad you guys keep up this tradition, as well as continue to support local farmers like Manchester. We'll definitely be there to enjoy the local fare as well as pick up a copy of your new cookbook!! www.ilovetheglassonion.com
Congratulations, Sarah! And thank you for finally sharing the GO's wonderful recipes with your adoring fans!
Ticket price is obscene. Sorry. It is.
/dammitsomuch - i would like to see this one.
All I can say about this dinner was WOW! An antipasto plate consisting of golden beets, olives, feta cheese, pickled eggs, red peppers and salami was paired with Boy King Double IPA (and said Boy King was in attendance), a nice surprise that Jaime brought along to the event celebrating COAST's four years in existence. The food was amazing (butternut squash soup, wood-fired local shrimp & suckling pig porchetta) and the beers complimented everything nicely (Belafonte, Chinook and the equally amazing 2009 Blackbeerd stout - my personal favorite). To finish off the evening, a chestnut & asian pear panna cotta was paired with the blended Red Legs (60% Red Legs & 40% 2 year old Jack Daniel barrel aged Red Legs). Jamie & David make some great beers and the chef at EVO (my apologies to him for not knowing his name) made some impressive food. Thanks to everyone for a great evening!
What a beautiful day! A perfect day to do something outside and in a rural creekside atmosphere. Let's go to the Blue Crab Fest!
After making the trek through the ever expanding gauntlet of traffic cone insanity that is Mount Pleasant, it was a nice drive up 17 to Awendaw for some tasty tasty blue crabs, live music and a the enjoyment of a gorgeous cool sunny October 1st day. What we found was a the potential for a great event that is in dire need of an event coordinator before we ever come back.
This was very disorganized event to say the least. It seems like all the simple no-brainer things were completely forgotten about when planning the event. The first issue we found a real mash-up of food areas with opposing lines that ran into each other, effectively blocking pedestrian routes through the venue and making simple point to point walking a veritable roadblock. Also thrown in the mix was the stage area which you basically had to walk through to get to the main field where carb was being prepared and eaten. Point to point walking was no easy feat.
After getting acclimated and getting in line for some of that tasty tasty blue crab we discovered that to get said tasty crab required tickets (the only thing at the venue that required tickets). Great. So where is the ticket buying booth? Oh, all the way back at the front of the venue through the mash up of lines and stages. Nice. We wade back to get our tickets. By the way, why do we need 10 tickets per bucket of crab when crab is the only thing to use tickets? Wouldn't one ticket suffice?
Finally we have gone back through all the aforementioned tedium and have our tasty tasty blue crab. Yes!
We make our way to the crab eating tent to devour those tasty creek bugs we came here for only to find there are no crab crackers provided, no paper towels to wipe the crab guts off your hands and *no beer* anywhere at the venue to wash down the blue crab with. Really?
Resigned to our fate we eat the two buckets of crab we purchased (delicious by the way) using hands and molars to crack the little suckers open. They were quite fresh and quite tasty as we had hoped. We cleaned up our table and went to wash our hands. Oh wait that's right there was no where at the venue to wash your hands!!! No sinks, no water. My friend who came with us went to the creek dock and washed off as best he could there. I had my 10 year old daughter and together we finally convinced one of the guys cooking crab to hose us off with the only hose at the venue. Great way to cap it off.
Please people and Mayor of Awendaw, get an event coordinator! Port-o-lets a mile away from the venue, no place to wash hands, no basic crab cracking tools, and no beer to wash down blue crab make this a really hard sell to ever come back. One of the most unplanned events I have ever been to in the Lowcountry, and I grew up here. Great potential and we'll be back if these seemingly no-brainers get taken care of. Right now I couldn't recommend this event to anyone, which it a true shame.
