Re: “Sean Brock's Heritage cookbook wins James Beard Award

Congrats to Frank as well. One of Charleston's most talented photographers, who certainly deserves more accolades.

Re: “Sean Brock's Heritage cookbook wins James Beard Award

Since Sean is a huge fan of Martha Lou's..as should we all... you can make some assumptions.

I can't afford Husk.

I eat at Martha Lou's as much as I can and its prob better anyways.

Re: “The media, elected officials unite with big business to oppose unions

Again..where did you get 12 million? Can you do the math?

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hE…

My numbers do not include the first quarter of 2015. Typically the numbers become readjusted downward after the first release.

Re: “Sean Brock's Heritage cookbook wins James Beard Award

So cool for Sean and everyone involved. Among the Charleston contributors is the book's photographer, Peter Frank Edwards, a Charleston native.

Re: “Sean Brock's Heritage cookbook wins James Beard Award

Mario Delgado's question is best addressed to Dwayne Green, Esq., who–more than any single person–has his finger on the pulse of Charleston's black community (unless the member of the black community is homeless, in which case it would be bad table manners to bring up the subject in the presence of Mr. Green, Esq.).

Re: “Business partners Brad Creger, Mike Veeck, and Bill Murray plan Food Truck O'Rama

For those who don't know, or are new to Charleston™, Bill Murray has a house here and lives in it.

He didn't want people to know it at the time, but prior to its tenant evacuation, the Sergeant Jasper could boast that Mr. Murray, an actor best known for his work in the Discovery Channel documentary "Groundhog", owned and lived in all of the eighth floor.

Fuck You Charleston, Inc.™ (formerly known as "The Beach Company") can and will confirm all of this.

Re: “The Agenda: State may pony up for Volvo; S.C. DMV changes appearance policy after settlement; Boeing CEO on worker organizing: "We will work with them"

"Don't you aspire to more for the USA than choosing what you admit you see as the least bad of two bad choices?"

Of course, but reality is a bitch.

We haven't had real choices in the history of the USA. I'm not hopeful to see it in my lifetime.

Re: “The media, elected officials unite with big business to oppose unions

LOL. Thanks for copying and pasting the definition of the International Monetary Fund. Tell me about how they derive their US of A employment numbers, if you can.

Did you even read my link? It's clear you have not. The numbers for jobs created in the US of A come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Wikipedia has the numbers listed for every president. Clear and transparent. A total of 1,316,000 jobs were created in Obama's first term and so far in his second term 6,038,000 jobs have been created. Can you do the math from here? {eye roll}

Wrong. About. Everything.

Re: “The media, elected officials unite with big business to oppose unions

http://www.imf.org/external/index.htm
the International Monetary Fund...mr smart ass. How about we converse without your smart ass eye rolls..when it is obviously you who is mistaken.
You think you know everything but your just plain wrong.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 188 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.
Created in 1945, the IMF is governed by and accountable to the 188 countries that make up its near-global membership.
You will find all the stats there.

Now again..Please show me where you get the 12 million jobs number?
It is incorrect.
The correct stat is 5.98 million jobs created since 2009.

Re: “The media, elected officials unite with big business to oppose unions

IMF? What are you talking about? I'm not sure where you've copied and pasted that from but it makes no sense. Nobody supplies the US of A with jobs numbers. {rolls eyes}.

Start here (and be sure to notice how bad Republicans are at creating jobs):

Liberals are incapable of an honest discussion. If they were, they would no longer be liberal.

Re: “King Street Grille closing Citadel Mall location

Ron - I'm beginning to think CID is an uber-Will Moredock. Moredock believes that Southern White males are genetically inferior beings and he's obligated to denigrate them and apologize for them. Cid feels the same way about America and Americans in general.

Re: “King Street Grille closing Citadel Mall location

Actually, the malls began in areas where regular bad weather (read winter in the North) made it attractive to park where you would only have to be exposed to that weather as you were beginning and ending your shopping trip. Not necessary in the South, but it was adopted here because it was the "modern" way to shop. Today, in general, malls have lost favor in the South but are still popular and viable in the North. But, of course, to half-wits, sorry, Spellcheck, (I said Warwit), half-minded opinion is fact.

Speaking of D'Allesandro's - does anyone have any idea if they're doing the Elliotborough Block Party again this year? Last year's was an absolute blast - it's been almost exactly one year, so am hoping I'd hear about the 2015 Shindig..

Re: “Interfaith group calling for action on wage theft

I joined Nehemiah Action in 2012--13, then did not return the next year because I didn't like their tactics of "trying to torpedo and play gotcha politics" and forcing simple YES or NO answers without clarification. Also, they told us to recruit several friends to come with us & coached us in tactics of not taking NO for an answer!
