Re: “Columnist Erin Perkins goes to boogie at Republic Reign

This place would be Club 54 in Toledo. At this pace, with the Matrix style clubs going up, upper K will soon look like Market street. Then we'll be forced to follow the kids to Hipsterborough and live by the "be rich, dress poor" code of coolness. Never really understood why Chais never made it. I liked that place.

Re: “Columnist Erin Perkins goes to boogie at Republic Reign

I think I've asked you before: may I please join you and your friends for a fun night on the town? I'm innocent, and I like to have a good time. I would look good in all of your pictures.

The murals at Holy City Brewing are the work of Sean Williams, a local artist and all-around great dude. Check out his other murals in Avondale (behind Avondale Wine & Cheese) and Park Circle (EVO)

Another bar with a DJ. So original. Does anyone know when Coyote Ugly or Bar Louie is going to come to town and open shop on Upper King?

Re: “Freeloaders: Double your pleasure

Also, I'm a hopeless romantic and fellow Jane Austen fan, and hope that the other Jane Austen fans won't be offended when I bring my Polar Bear™ cooler to the "Pride and Prejudice" discussion on Saturday!

I wish I could be part of The Scene.

Some of your friends look attractive and seem nice; methinks they could use a little Pronghorn.

Re: “Freeloaders: Double your pleasure

South of the Border is now -- for a limited time only, and for the first time EVER -- giving out free fireworks*

*with the purchase of fireworks.

I just thought I'd point that out for the City Paper readers who are also Freeloaders because I'm trying to stay relevant and on-topic. (!)

Re: “CofC graduation this weekend

Hey, these drivers are no worse than the typical tourist. But just be wary of them and don't get too excited. These folks help pay some of our bills with their dollars. And it is time to go shopping for furniture for the man cave, or the rental, or the double-wide, outside the dorms. These kids have no way of taking their stuff home, so they just leave it outside for anyone who wants it. Sort of like manna, or something.

Re: “CofC graduation this weekend

Ah, the great pre-summer move out: downtown neighborhood streets suddenly have a dearth of parking spaces, late-nite weekend noise violations in residential districts drop 75%, and my car can more-or-less be safely parked without it's bimonthly hit-and-run incident.

And lets not forget the broken furniture and trash that line the curb for as far as the eye can see...

How do you get a graduate from the College of Charleston off your front porch?

Easy: Pay him for the pizza

Re: “Charleston celebrates the Battle of Puebla. Kind of.

" it all felt like a big frat party. We traveled on. As we approached Juanita Greenberg's however, we wished we'd stayed on Columbus street. Drunken multitudes were practically spilling out of the space"

What exactly were you expecting? Wow! People get drunk on weekends and holidays, and other days too! Film at 11!

Re: “Charleston celebrates the Battle of Puebla. Kind of.

Mondays hangover was off the charts. As far as the Drivers from TB...1-2 and you're money, 3-4 and the wheels start coming off, 4-5 and you better call mom to pick u up, 6-7 an it's a total dumpster fire from that point forward. Santis had a great crowd as well.

Ah, this guy. I mostly know him from his satire blog, http://thepursuitofcivility.tumblr.com/

At least, I hope it's satire. There's no way real people can be that un-selfaware and pretentious, is there?

sesquicentennial: 150 years. Gunilla: built in 1940, only converted to sail in 1999. Check your assumptions at the Google.
