"yep, when you can't think of anything original, cite somebody else"
What sort of original thought do you think I'm going to have about a colloquial contraction? Do I look like a linguist? Or etymologist? Sheesh.
At least I didn't artrogue it and just post a wall of text verbatim from a website without attribution.
The, um, relevant bit starts about 7:30 in. I'd explain further, but they'd hear me.
How do you feel about Finland, lynnar?
This is my first time ever reading your column, i can see I've missed a gem. I live in NJ. One of my wonderful Facebook friends I've met because of my daughter's disability posted it. So I'm grateful for all three of you extraordinary girls. I am sorry that it's come to this point for you. I just said a prayer for you, Maybelle, your mother and your family. I didn't always have God in my life. For the first half of my life I did not. And then a long and debilitating life-threatening illness nearly took mine away. I was on the cusp, and that was the convincer. Jesus has never left my side and I know now that He was always there, even when I wasn't sure. He's there for you too. I pray for peaceful last days and for blessed assurance. God bless and keep you Alison. ❤️ From NJ.
I hv a friend who lived in Canda. Forget it. They voted in an idiot. Trudeau is a horses you know what. He knows nothing. Bought the election. A pretty boy. Rode on his father coat tails. The country was in the black and in a year he put them in a huge deficit. She said their healthcare system sucks. She lives in Vancouver. And it's pretty there. That's it. Then a friend here had her first cousin die of lung cancer because of their healthcare system. He was in the music biz. He lived in Tronto. An American, but got transferred to Canada. He waited forever to see a doctor and then treated him for the wrong thing! His mother in NYC insisted to come home for doctors to see him. But it was too late. He died at 38! You can hv Canada.
All the Hollywood jerks can move there. They can afford their own private doctors!!! It's us peons that get screwed.
Jeff Cook has been running full-sized, I-26 billboards for quite a while. Remember the one of him as a LEGO mini-fig? Anyhow, based on what I've seen the guy gets to drink all the coffee at the brokerage that he wants.
Too cold. Maybe we can get Trump to move to Canada instead?
It's really sad that you actually believe that crap, tup!
Looks like you forgot a few facts. Sterling and Castile both tried to go for their guns after the police officers told them to show their hands.
ALL TRUTHS MATTER!
There is absolutely a heaven! Please accept Jesus as your Savior and get to know Him! That's the only way, the ONLY way. Good people don't go to heaven...SAVED people do! It has NOTHING to do with you and EVERYTHING to do with Him. You are beautiful, strong and couragous on Earth, and I pray you will be in heaven for eternity!!! You are in my prayers, though I don't know you. God Bless!!!
Allison, I remember you from high school. I am so sorry for your situation. It really sucks and I wish I had something better to say. I guess I will try by saying, I hope. I hope that death is far better than you could ever imagine! I hope that you pass from this earth with peace in your heart and with the knowledge that your being here made this place better than it was before you arrived. I hope that your husband, daughter, and loved ones have peace now and for the rest of their lives in the wake of this tragedy. And, I hope you know how much your candor and your courage to talk hard really did make a difference in the lives of others. I hope all the best for you! Stephanie (McBroom) Nelson
Well, when you elect a developer Mayor...
Good written article, but you're all exaggerating. This is what it's like to live in a desirable city, for whatever reason that it may be desirable. Growth creates other issues and growth is inevitable because of things like the internet that make viewing other POSSIBILITIES aside from a "Rust Belt" or "Ice Pack" more interesting. The tech age allows for this and if you trade spaces with someone from Philadelphia, you're going to think of it even worse and the Philladelphian the opposite. If you want small down, go live in Georgetown. People have trouble getting bridges fixed and roads built just the same in Pennsylvania or NY. Heck, in Western NY, bridges are crumbling onto cars. Stop it with the bubble-bashing. Embrace it. Learn that your commute is now 30 instead of 20 minutes. Deal with it.
And to people bashing the Jasper project, shove it. You don't get to decide what a developer can do outside of the master zoning plan for a community. Maybe show up to the meetings 10 years ago and complain before whining about it 15 years later.
Prob. Ian would not want you to do a Fugazi cover band and if you did you better not make any money or charge for your show.
not "offended" CID. i used the word "defensive"--as in the white guilt you apparently feel. i have no time for that. and no interest in your hurt feelings. you might go polish your gun or whatever it is you do when you feel threatened by the gays, blacks and women.
i'm asking what specifically has charleston (broadly defined--educational institutions, individuals, leaders, businesses) done in the wake of Emanuel that is worth emulating? the author begins with an assumption that charleston has responded positively. but what does that mean? what have been the specific actions that have been taken? by what measurement has it been positive?
i identified the following as a post-emanuel positive (though i suspect it is more a triumph of theatrics than substance):
but what else is out there?
"To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think, spend some time time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day."
- Jimmy V
Thanks Alison for helping us with all three. If there's a gathering place on the other side, I hope to one day see you there.
Here are trying to solve the money problem with the James Island connector & you pass a bike (path) lane for the "FEW". How embarrassed you people in that office make Charleston look. Shame on you.
I'm sure the new bike racks will require a small "FEE" to use them. I hope the city doesn't depend on these as a significant amount of revenue. If they do, they will starve. It just dawned on me that the bike lanes would also be a great place for the "DAME" MOPEDS,since they all travel about the same speed,"SLOW".
If you want to ride a bike, go to Hampton Park & bring a box lunch & then ride over to EX-RILEY park & watch a ballgame until the traffic dies down.
