"So what do you do when you see someone screwing with your vehicle?"

I actually hope they manage to get it started and steal it, so I can take the insurance money and buy something slightly less horrible.

Re: “Folly Beach council members say they're not dysfunctional

You can't freeze time, of course FB has changed over the yrs. My earliest point of ref is 91. There were plenty of folks then saying Folly was ruined. If you want gated non changing sterility there dozens of options: Seabrook,Kiawah, Hilton Head etc etc

IMHO Folly has done a pretty good job staying unpretentious and welcoming to all.

Re: “The Heart of Sol Legare

Where did Solomon from Sol come from? Why Solomon Legare? I thought Sol Legare was French? Sol for sun, Legare for road. Hence, road of the sun!? Where the freed slaves would get this French from I don't know. So does anyone know the meaning of this word Sol Legare and it's meaning and origin? Anyone's answer is welcome.

Re: “Charleston Pride moves downtown for its fourth year

The Sodomite
and
Madness Marriage
By R. Belanger

“Yea they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abomination.” - Isa. 66:3

Are you taking a stand and speaking out about same-sex marriage? Can you hear it: “Another intolerant bigot has just jumped on the bandwagon. Your days are numbered, Mister! Your intolerance of ‘alternate lifestyles’ will not be tolerated. That is ’hate speech!’ You are without compassion. You are discriminatory. It will not be long before we have you and your kind jailed and silenced from society.”
These are more than likely the thoughts and desires of every Sodomite, not only in our land, but throughout the world. I suspect that just before the soon coming Rapture, such thoughts as the above will receive their fulfillment. Many pastors and faithful Christians will be jailed for slander, intolerance, hate-speech or whatever false charges may be dreamed up. Beloved, Jesus said, “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).
We are living in the time in which the world is preparing the way for the entrance of that grand Sodomite, that grand homosexual, the Antichrist. In speaking of him the Word of God tells us in Daniel 11:37, “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.” Here we are told of a coming Jewish leader who will have no moral values or standards since he regards not the God of Israel and therefore neither His Word. He will have no regard toward any form of religion or any form of governmental authority. Nor will he regard women and their desire for him. In my mind, there is no doubt that he will approve of same-sex marriage because he will not only be immoral, but he will also be anti-Christian. He will, without question, be a self-centered individual, well suited for today!
Same-sex Marriage?
The very idea or thought of lending credence to it is filled with madness. It is an idea that is totally without logic or reason; but it is an idea that our governmental leaders, our legal systems, seem almost anxious to embrace. Beloved, a rabid dog is without sense and most dangerous; so likewise is this madness of same-sex marriage. They that see nothing wrong with it obviously have taken leave of their senses and have become totally blinded to sound reasoning. Beside all this, in the eyes of God these can never be “marriages; all such are the effects of deep-dyed sin! ( To be continued)

Re: “The Eroding Edge of America

Yeah this is just another sign of how bad off our country is. A bunch of new money thinks they own the beach and will run it their way.

Yeah right. This is a joke. Folly beach is like Greenacres on the coast. Joke.

Do you think the early violent threats were from philanderers, or from insurance/disability fraud-ists?

Re: “Crisis Ministries launches internal investigation, continues fundraising efforts

That's not what she did. My understanding is that she took Crisis Ministry's checks, made out to vendors, and put them in her account.

What you're doing is what she should have been doing: putting them in CM's account.

(Also, believe it or not, there are a few banks out there that will *not* let a person other than the account holder deposit money in an account.)

Re: “Crisis Ministries launches internal investigation, continues fundraising efforts

I've never been asked for ID when making deposits only. Regardless of bank. I deposit my rent money into my landlord's bank account, and no one ever questions it. This is not really that surprising.

"the mayor and city council are more concerned with profits for the businesses than providing a livable environment for the residents."

What issues of livability would you like to see addressed?

Re: “The Agenda: F&B on Obamacare; S.C. coast sees fastest growth; Winery releasing harbor-aged wine

Aquaoir - Mira Winery, which aged a case of Cabernet Sauvignon at the bottom of the Charleston Harbor earlier this year, is releasing a dozen of the 48 bottles (ABC News 4) as part of a $500 wine club package.

You want to know the difference between this wine and wine not aged for 3 months under water? Free advertising.

$48 for one bottle of Mira Cab.
$500 for one bottle of Mira Cab and one bottle of Mira Cab that sat in pluff mud for 3 months.

Re: “The PRISM compromise: Obama must allow camera crews to film him 24 hours a day

Yes, you're funny. Good job.

BUT, everything is a balance. I don't mind the government knowing what numbers I phone and who I write email to as a tradeoff for keeping terrorists from setting off bombs on planes I might fly on.

Re: “Folly Beach council members say they're not dysfunctional

I had a friend who lived on Jasper Street. I remember sitting in lawnchairs in her back yard drinking beer and watching the bumper to bumper traffic crawl toward the bridge. Then I moved to Folly. Go figure.

Re: “Mayor Riley and City Council have forgotten that Charleston is our home, not a trademarked tourist town

Great article! Just so sad that Riley is going this far! Leave Charleston alone, and stop thinking with your wallet and think with your heart. Riley, you of all people, should know that Charleston needs to stay true to its roots. Your proposal is so fricken stupid, you have to see how stupid it really is.
