Re: “Prepare for religious-based registrations under Trump

This guy sounds like the rednecks when Obama got elected.

Re: “Prepare for religious-based registrations under Trump

Yes, lets not exaggerate or form conjecture with no proof. Is this not one of those things you constantly bash Trump about? Making brash statements with no backing proof?

Hey Trump could decide we will all leave earth and migrate to mars whether or not we want to go. Why, he is forming secret legions of armed census takers now to identify everyone so no one gets missed as we all queue up to board the spaceships to take us all off planet! We should all be concerned! I have no proof, but its true, because I just said it was!

Extraordinary proud and grateful to be in your neighborhood, Shani. Thank you for articulating the feelings of so many (myself included!) who have yet to find the words for this new era.

Community is where it starts, like the branch inside a lung. From there, it spreads and nurtures the other organs and communities until they function together as a whole body.

Re: “Donald Trump wants to throw flag-burners in jail, but technically South Carolina has an old law that would do just that

I just hope that this rhetorical hand job was pleasing to its intended audience. Burning the flag in protest is protected speech as a matter of settled case law, but also revocation of citizenship is forbidden as a violation of the 8th Amendment as a matter of settled case law.

In unrelated news, Trump Org settled a fraud case with the state of NY for $25 million dollars, something that would normally flag a company as "never do business with these people again" under federal contracting practices. Welcome to Trump's America.

Re: “Stegelin: The Celebrity Cabinet

I was only repeating what the democrat party stated. so what is your problem? Those are their words, Nancy Pelosi, Valerie Jarret, Obama. What biblical beliefs did i try to impose? EVERYTHING above was YOUR PARTY and BELIEF system. By your own admission, your life is a lie, you can't be who you want to be for fear of consequences. ALL decisions have consequences. Perhaps you are so angry because your hatred for others not like you is eating you from the inside.

Re: “Stegelin: The Celebrity Cabinet

I'm only bigoted and intolerant of those that are bigoted and intolerant. Trump (and much of his legions - your "get over it" proves it) is the one who is bigoted and intolerant of anyone other than himself. You can believe whatever it is you want to, but when you try to use your religious beliefs or bullying (see your response) to impose your biblical law on the rest of this PLURALISTIC nation, YOU are the one intolerant. Sheriff? No, more like "totalitarian" dictator and "Bully Extraordinaire"! And his bullying incites the intolerant to do EXACTLY as depicted in the link provided above. It is Trump's puppets that are attacking everything non-white, non-straight and non-christian.

Re: “Can Burke High School unite Charleston?

I remember when Stoney Field opened. It was built on "reclaimed land" - the City of Charleston's garbage dump. Bishop England football players dubbed it Golgotha. It's a sin and a shame the City has chosen to let it fall into disrepair.

I also remember when Burke High School was a force for good in our community. I remember being thrilled by their band's performances in parades. I remember watching their debate teams in tournaments perform with poise and skill. I remember seeing Burke students around town - quietly proud and always joyful.

We, as Charlestonians, need to do everything we can to help Burke High School ascend to her former glory. She MUST become the shining jewel she was in Charleston's crown again. She deserves our help. Her students, past present and future, deserve our very best efforts.

I would think that any president-elect that does not support free-speech should lose their citizenship AND spend a year in jail just before being ousted from this GREAT nation.
