Ok, so first CP bitches about gentrification, then a couple of weeks later glorifies it??? They support the local small farmers, then glorify a quail factory farm. Are we trying to illuminate or just stir up controversy, Stephanie? Oh wait, you hired Tara, didn't you? I forgot integrity was a lost issue here...

Yeah, Thomas, and the resultant end-quality would be proportionally the same as with home repairs - in many cases shoddy and unacceptable. The real problem with the CMS survey was the sample they used, Medicare patients, and comparing for-profits to non-profits that must also take all indigents. And to Mat- my hero, Sam Clemens said 3 kinds of liars: liars, damned liars and statisticians. Your statistic ($55 million profit) means absolutely nothing out of context of their total income. To be fair you would have set that as a percentage of income so one could make a decision as to whether or not they profited more than a fair return on receipts.

The school has the duty to "police" students' behavior toward each other because students are forced to attend by truancy laws! Even when they are "old enough to drop out," those who do or try to are subjected to a barrage of propaganda by their elders: "So you wanna be a garbageman, huh?"
Many schools (IDK in which states) have a rule that asserts their disciplinary jurisdiction over misconduct "outside of school but school-related!" Indeed, Ashley Patrick warned/ (threatened?) that '[feces] will drop' if the victim exercised her right/ duty as a good student to participate in class discussion!

The school needs to apply the rules consistently. As far as I'm concerned, the text was between two students, off campus, and had nothing to do with the school or the educational environment. However, if the texting student is to be punished in this way, then the racist African American students who made racist comments, on campus, in the face of other students, should be punished just as severely. It's all about equal application of law/rules. This just goes to show how much of a failure government schooling is. The solution, most likely to provide lasting improvement, is total separation of school and state.

Whites are going to have to fight for their rights against oppressive liberals and Democrats the same way blacks had to fight for theirs decades ago against racist southern whites.

The peninsula does have some inflated rental prices. It is sad, considering the rest of the area has somewhat reasonable rent.

When Alvin Greene came to North Myrtle Beach for a campaign stop, there were cameramen following him. Since I had a lot to say about how the SC voting machines are outlawed in other states, I was filmed.
These machines are second hand and were sold because of their ability to be manipulated. Of which this flaw can be just what SC lawmakers were looking for.

Very good points. First, where is it the place for CCSD to be the "police" in an off Campus issue? Let Law Enforcement apply current statutes and decide if a crime occurred. With all I see in the news it wouldn't be the first time CCSD had a student with pending charges. Secondly, Racism comes from all sides. CCSD must take a color neutral stand to these issues when they occur on school property.

Sexuality in this country has been deliberately oppressed because it helps create a market for such material without ever really addressing the reason there is so much gender bias in America. Pornographic materials is almost entirely oriented toward male gratification and it has only been in the past few decades the potentials for female enjoyment of sexuality have come to the fore, much less the mechanics of attainment. Very few men are aware of the female anatomy, or are willing to spend the time learning and applying the techniques which will help a women reach and sustain the levels of intense pleasure their bodies are capable of, and which are so important to a healthy relationship. In Anne's day, she would have been like most women today, waiting for the fireworks that had already happened. Just not for her.

If only our health system was as for-profit, unregulated, and relatively free and unencumbered as the home repair industry, healthcare would be abundant and inexpensive, just like home repairs.

The profit motive also provides motivation for better quality in a competitive environment. Government subsidized Non-profit hospitals and government run hospitals sometimes function at a bare minimum level of quality because they can.
If hospitals and doctors who seek to make money by providing care bother you, make a mental note to avoid them in the future. If enough people did that they might lower their fees or just go out of business.

That many blacks hate white and multiracial people is not difficult to understand. The cultural bias against blacks is palpable and the program of biological and psychological gentrification only makes them more desperate to avoid becoming victims of the ethnic cleansing objectives of the elite upper class. They are still put down daily due to the color of their skin. One initiative that might help at a grass roots level is if white people would find some way to compliment a minority every day for a job well done; a service rendered; or even on the way they look. And it wouldn't hurt to give them a hug and apologize for the way their ancestors were treated and for the complete disruption of their family and traditions during slavery. Schools need to help blacks appreciate the contributions their people made to society; the wealth they help generate; and the buildings they helped build. And yes it would be nice to offer them land and a new start in Alaska or some other state where they are accepted and treated like human beings should be. Even offer to relocate them back to their country of origin. Blacks in the USA are not even allowed to have feelings. You never hear of them being convicted of a hate crime. But many have ample reason to hate. Integration may have been the worst thing that could have happen to Afro-Americans from a cultural standpoint. Perhaps they would be better off with their own schools, just as they are with their own churches. In the meantime, white students in predominantly black schools are just going to have to bite the bullet because there is a dual standard when it comes to what passes for racism. Better get a small digital recorder if you want to begin to prove anything that would promote affirmative action to obviate this social disease.
