Yey! I am so happy about this!!! The Johns Island "30-something" has beeb praying for a cool bar on the Island. And the Moose..what?! Live music, too..yes!!
Wow, Mexican wrestling masks...doesn't Cha-Cha's already have that theme covered?
Proper Fish & Chips, yes please! And maybe a fried Mars bar too!
I don't know about you, but my "big night out of drinking" usually doesn't end at 8 PM.
The Boxcar after a big night out of drinking I think will make you have a religious movement.
The sandwich was excellent. In this day and age of lunch or dinner being $9-$15 if you are going out this was on par with that. I left satisfied. Only complaint was I couldn't drink a cold beer with it.
I've been to Boxcar Betty's twice. I had the salad the first time and on the second visit I had the Boxcar. The sandwich was delicious and the salad was good. I disagree on the size of the portions though, because I found them fairly small. They possibly could be using chicken raised without hormones, which would be a reason for smaller chicken breasts. At almost two and a half times the price of a Chick-fil-a sandwich, it will be interesting to see how strong the demand is for their sandwiches. Also, is chef the right term to use for someone in charge of a kitchen that has three fried chicken sandwiches, a fried chicken salad, chicken fingers, and french fries on the menu?
LONG LIVE EBAUMS WORLD. TOTAL SHITTY WEBSITE.
This place is really good. I have been there several times.
Good was really bad...twice. Floors we're greasy too. Way off on this review
Ha. This was reported like a month ago by P&C. Y'all slipping bad....real bad.
They best step it up and get in under the moratorium then. Hahahaha, jimbeauxisland is spot on. In NYC this has been a big thing for a few years now. It has become very amusing and a source of countless jokes to most everyone. I think I am going to start ordering boilermakers to upset the esteemed mixologists. Wonder what a mixologist would call a boilermaker?
Will they be able to open a new bar with the new 3 year moratorium on new bars?
Hopefully whatever the joint becomes they call the bartenders mixologists. Charleston could use more mixologists and less pedestrian bartenders. I would never want some simpleton bartender making my $14 Mule drink.
Was just a matter of time...Torch use to be the place to go before upper king really was "upper king" but that time has long passed. Wish them the best in their latest reincarnation.. Fourth time I think isn't it?
Agreed Brewengineer. Really fresh and plenty of lobster. Jesse and Kyle are really knowledgeable and super helpful. Try the tuna taco. I love the the tacos too.
Yeesh. Yeah that's what Charleston needs...more crappy, pretentious, look-how-cool-I-pretend-to-be, overpriced dumps. All I needed to hear was "a regular DJ rotation" and “premier adult playground, dance club, and hookah lounge”. Lol! Ooohkay!
Finally had the chance to try 167 Raw's lobster roll. I can echo other opinions on here about how amazing they are. It is a really simple roll, which I think makes it so good. Just fresh lobster chunks (you can see the live guys right in the front case), seasoning, and a very light mix of aioli. It is served on a well buttered split-top roll, which really makes the sandwich. I have to say, it is worth the $18, and I will be returning this week for another. The staff is really cool in there as well. We went during a very busy time on Friday, and the guy at the counter gave us 4 free fresh shucked oysters just because we had to wait. The wait wasn't even very long, but this was a nice gesture.
Went to try the place on 7-27. Sun hours posted as 10-til. Got there at 1 pm and they were closed! Guess that meant till I got there.
Red's Lobster Roll is very small. It's a great price but should be ordered as an appetizer or snack.
How was the one at Red's though?
