Re: “Confessions of a Southern Charm newbie: Ep 8

...just found out about this column from reading comments on Vulture about the RHONY show... apparently all posters were out of their ADD meds, because as soon as SC was mentioned in an aside, the thread was overtaken by excited SC fans, one of them a big fan of yours. This show kills and I'm a southerner myself, grew up in Savannah, GA, which has its own insular population of old-money, well-connected bluebloods. These people are raised to know which family names are connected with real fortunes, a world where children have stocks and trusts set aside for them at birth. So if someone who lives like Whitney says so-and-so "has money," you can bet they do.

Re: “Charleston police seek to install more license plate readers

Has the region thought about both enforcement and economic/social help for North Charleston? There are more than a few cities impacted that might be able to help financially, but not just to arrest but also to provide support services. Would drop the crime in the Tri-county area for everyone....

Re: “Roses and Ruins

So funny, I seemed to have the same problem at the one in Summerville. Had to reschedule due to the drawing not being completed, and after 2 weeks, half a grand for a thigh piece smaller than my hand. No wonder it seems like on one is ever there to get a tattoo

Re: “The Agenda: Go Chants; City evaluating Airbnb, etc.; CofC considering drug task force

For anyone concerned about our housing shortage/affordability crunch, just look at airbnb/vrbo. Entire houses and apartments are off the long-term rental market.
Don't believe me? Go to airbnb and peruse the listings in your neighborhood.

Re: “Bronwen Dickey delves into the battle over pit bulls

There are no bad dogs just bad dog owners. Take any animal human or otherwise mistreat it, show it no love , beat it, force it to fight, encourage its aggression and its going to be mean and lash out at any perceived threat.
We should be able to euthanize abusers of any sort.

Re: “We are the Super Fans

Dj..
Just put on the shows you want too and be damned what the music scene is.
It makes no difference what the majority of people want to hear. If your waiting for them you will be waiting forever. You can have the music you want with out any support. Just do it.
"If you want punk to get bigger, which I obviously do, then you have to have a bigger music scene in general."
Sorry that logic is gonna get you no where.

We didn't get the likes of The Circle Jerks,The Dead Kennedys,Christ on a Crutch
RKL, GG Allin, Mykel Board or some others, i'm sure my memory fails me , back in the day, cause there was ever a vibrant scene to rail against. We could care less we just wanted to hear what we liked.

Re: “What to do when there are no more treatment options left

Alison, I don't know if you remember me, but I met you when you first came to Duke. I have been enthused by your triumphs and saddened by your trials. I wish you, Brian, and Maybelle unanticipated joys in the months to come and the strength to bear the anticipated trials.
Kindest regards,
Joel Barton

Re: “What to do when there are no more treatment options left

There is a new NIH study out that states Maple syrup..the darker the better if taken every day..1 TBS per day..cures cancer. This was on the National News about a month ago. This is a new finding from a study that had been underway.....again..they stated that maple syrup will cure cancer without the devastatting side effects of chemo. I have a friend in Costa Rica with prostrate cancer...I let him know this information as soon as I found out and am trying to spread the word to everyone. Please...GIVE IT A TRY!!! Prayers sent and God Bless!...Amen

Re: “Remembering the political legacy of Lee Bright

...and South Carolina politics just inched ever so slightly but perceptibly toward "not a constant embarrassment" status. Of course, maybe his GOP bettor was chosen because Senator Bright was merely not conservative ENOUGH. That possibility boggles my mind, but there is some real innovation in the field of political regression in this state.
