Re: “Scammers posing as SCE&G target local businesses

SCE&G /A SCANA Compny white-collar fraud collected already billions of dollars from their victims. According to False Claim Act it is a violation as a „reaping“ is. Here. there are over three million victims including veterans, retirees, military and other families with children.
One Lexingtom lawyer got 63 month imprisonment from less that 3 million dollars fraud from US judge Margaret B. Seymour. How much should get K.Chad Burgess - the SCANA conselor for the three Billions „organized crime“ (a sarcasm well supported)? A simple multiplication gives: 1000 times more or 63,000 months = 5,250 years, a little more than Mr. Bernard Madoff got for his scam, right? Anybody who block this fact do obstruct the justice, everybody who approve another increases will support criminal negligence of all victims budgets and breach her/his own pleadge for „..liberty and justice for all“. As public servant, paid by SC taxpayers, s/he is guilty of conspiracy and, maybe braibery. These what we have been taught in the USA scholls. Stop financial rapes!!!

Re: “Park Circle parents seek solutions after P&C series focusing on North Charleston High

This is such a disgusting "series". There is no discussion of magnet schools in Charleston County. Yet the story freely and repeatedly blames the Academic Magnet and SOTA for all the problems at NCHS. That the author was fixated on the AMHS is undeniable. We are told repeatedly that AMHS is only 1 mile away from NCHS, as if this is relevant to something. We are told twice that AMHS STOLE 54 students from NCHS.

We are never told that primarily African-American Garrett Academy of Technology magnet school took 294 students from NCHS. And the primarily African-American Military Magnet Academy took another 94 students from NCHS. This is roughly the same number of students who currently attend NCHS. Are these parents white? Go tell the parents of these students that they are selfish assholes who don't care about their neighbors.

Instead of reporting a story that is balanced and informative, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist decided to manufacture a race problem in the school system. It's clearly aimed at influencing the new Superintendent. The author sure didn't let any facts about magnet schools get in the way of her political agenda.

Re: “Park Circle parents seek solutions after P&C series focusing on North Charleston High

I don't believe you read the article or if you did you don't understand that the stories in there are typical of most of the kids in this and other similar schools, not anomolies. This is a situation where the kids who have the most support at home and at school are pulled out and the ones with the least are left there to get by on their own. What that does is put the teachers and administrators in a no win situation. They are left with the kids with learning disabilities, parents that can't get involved due to their own circumstances, low outside funding for activities and lack of community involvement because the parents who would normally be taking some of the load off are doing so at other schools.

How much money do you throw at a problem before you realize that you cannot educate a person who is not interested in learning?

Re: “Park Circle parents seek solutions after P&C series focusing on North Charleston High

This is a straight up function of the young white people moving to Park Circle, having kids and then do their best to avoid sending them to the local schools, many times that are just blocks from their house. It has nothing to do with developers, there are plenty of people making money and NCHS and NCES have undergone either complete rebuilds or massive renovations. The capital money has been invested but when the local kids are not going their the operations funding, which is doled out per student, is not there to get more day to day resources. It's a matter of only caring about your own kids and not what is best for the whole school system. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Re: “Park Circle parents seek solutions after P&C series focusing on North Charleston High

It's a problem that's not easily dealt with.

On one side, I can see how a lack of integration hurts the kids from the poor neighborhoods. Not only do they miss the chance to learn from kids that come from different cultural backgrounds, but they also don't get the benefit of the almighty dollar a la property tax. That translates to lesser facilities, less community involvement and fewer ambitious/talented teachers.

On the other side, I could not, in good faith, send my child to a school where crime and the "school as babysitter" concepts are more than the norm ---whether that through systemic flaws, cultural differences or both. The fact of the matter is, there are very real reasons aside from just "a lot of black people go there" why you wouldn't want to put your kid in this environment. And it's unfortunate, because SOMEONE is making money in Park Circle. How is that not making it's way back through the community? Something developer sharks something something.

Some kids are going to get the short end of the stick. It's unfortunate. And not to state the obvious, but I think it rarely matters if the parent is fully invested in the child's education.

I went to a public school in an old textile town in South Carolina about the time NAFTA went into full effect. While my teachers nor peers were never going to be accused of splitting the atom, I found that my own parents investment in my education and how well I did ended up making all the difference.

Alas, the government never really is good at dealing with problems like this once they've been created. The people of Park Circle are going to do like everyone else and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Re: “The Agenda: Bernie Sanders packs in S.C. crowds; Scott decries Gitmo prisoner 'import'; Belk is sold

Either Scott doesn't know his own district or he's pandering, complaining about relocating Gitmo prisoners here. The Navy Brig in Goose Creek has in the past and still does hold prisoners far more dangerous than what the proposal would send in. So is he ignorant of the facts or lying?

Arrest these WAR CRIMINALS before the world corporations destroy our government like a cancer.

Imprison these dirty politicians who care more for the dollar bill than for human life and natural law.

It would be better for them

I want my tax money back.

I didn't see one single benefit from these hummers purchased with my tax money for billions of dollars.

Then we LEAVE THEM IN IRAQ as an excuse to build more for the US economy. THEN we leave them in IRAQ for ISIS to use to murder people while on the drugs we probably help them get.

I think an american pharmaceutical company based out of india actually manufactures the drugs these terrorists are given to finish what we started in IRAQ. The destruction of the old world, and the replacement of it with a NWO organized with money and business not family.

Re: “The Agenda: Haley against Gitmo prisoners in S.C.; Bernie Sanders comes to town; Prof. donates $25k on behalf of NAACP

"Gov. Nikki Haley dug in her heels yesterday rejecting the implications of a report saying the Pentagon was considering the Naval brig in Hanahan as an alternate location for detainees currently housed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Haley: “Without question, we are not going to allow South Carolina to become a magnet for terrorists to come here.”

There's no fear like conservative pants-shitting fear.

I can't believe Guantanamo Bay detainees are still an issue. Provide evidence they have committed crimes, charge them and being them to trial. If they are convicted, put them in the Supermax prison if people are that terrified of them.

If that can't be done, release them. Their indefinite detention without trial is a tragic mockery of the ideals we supposedly hold so dear in this country.

School choice it the nice way of saying "we don't want to send our kids to school where there a lot of black kids." I see it all of the time in Park Circle. These white hipsters move in, renovate their house, have a kid or two and then either move or send their kids packing when it is time for them to go to school. NCLB and school choice has helped a bunch of kids but at the same time it has screwed over a bunch more.

"...then why not allocate resources to the school programs which prove most popular/successful?"

Because that is exactly the opposite of public education. That's how businesses run, and education should not be a business.

Re: “The Agenda: Colbert on GQ; Confederate flag banned in Chs. schools; Kimpson to file gun legislation

WE hate stephen cobert. Krusty the CLOWN VIACOM LOSER

STOP SHOVING HIM DOWN OUR THROATS.

We already know that his talent agency is also trying to creep its way into our government by "managing" career politicians and also actors on SNL.

I personally hate his family too including that scumbag female member of his family that tried to run for office here locally last time.

Hey lets see how many drunk frat guys we can get to canvas this time? DUDE! You should totally vote COLBERT, and then do a keg stand.

Ya last time viewing their target audience of ignorant south park viewers suddenly becoming politically active because they saw a SCRIPTED TV SHOW speaks volumes as to why our country is sinking. These same people are the uneducated peasants digging ditches in ANY COUNTRY aside from the USA>

The USA gets these morons riled up with cartoons, and these peasants will fight wars for them thinking they are good people.

OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOTHING to protect us from all of the PORNOGRAPHY called "entertainment" that is destroying human beings via miseducation and glorification of drugs/violence. WE NEED to NATIONALIZE THEse companies like VIACOM and HANG their CEO's.

If Stephen Colbert wins any candidacy I will laugh that people send their sons to die for this sham government that is starting to resemble a circus ole act.

Do we need more corporate puppets doing whatever big money says? I challenge Stephen Colbert to a duel of words without a laugh track.

These KRUSTY THE CLOWN wannabees are destroying our government that is designed to PROTECT US from these media monopolies. I say we destroy them first.

Manson was right.
