Re: “Stegelin: Second Amendment comes first

Yes, I said that. Thanks for repeating.

However, the data does clearly disprove "more guns = more violence" since we have a lot more of the former in homes and on the streets now and a lot less of the former.

Re: “Stegelin: Second Amendment comes first

If we use inconvenient things like facts, we learn that:

-According to FBI UCR (Uniform Crime Reporting) stats, violent crime in the US is presently at the lowest rate in nearly 40 years

-In the past three decades, as states have voted in expanded concealed carry licensing, the amount of guns lawfully carried on the street, in stores, in restaurants, at work, etc has increased drastically. There are now something like 11,000,000 Americans with such licensing. Plus, gun sales overall have increased a lot (but comparing NICS background check numbers).

So, what we learn from that is that more guns does not equal more crime. Obviously, I wouldn't assign sole causative effect from a more armed population to less violent crime, but clearly the inverse isn't true.

Re: “Stegelin: Second Amendment comes first

Good one, Steve. I'm always amazed when they say MORE guns would mean LESS violence. LMAO!

Re: “Stegelin: Boeing S.C. vs. The Machinists union, round 1

If the IAM and NLRB had their way you wouldn't have Boeing cartoons to draw, they wouldn't be in SC in the first place! Unions are prehistoric at least draw a brontosaurus or something to represent them.

Re: “Stegelin: Vined Justice for Walter Scott

Having not picked up the P&C in years, I can't speak to any cartoons they may have recently run, but can assure you any similarities are purely coincidental. It happens.

Wow, a complete rip-off on an editorial cartoon published a week ago in the P&C. Shame shame

Re: “Stegelin: Email etiquette with Lindsey Graham

Saildood, I'm sure you've heard about it. If not, you might want to fire up your Bing machine and do some keyboard fingering to find answers related to Benghazi. Though not as unfortunate as The Great Butch Hen's looks and sociopathic tendencies, the Benghazi fiasco is something of a serious issue and has been in the public scope for some time now. It was also the beginning of the end for her tenure as Secretary of State.

If you don't know such things, you should refrain from commenting on political matters. I think I'm doing myself a disservice by teaching you the basics of these complex concepts, but I suppose if I don't try to help then I would end up coming off as ornery.

Have you ever heard your kids talking about something and got confused about the lingo because you weren't keeping up with the times? I haven't. It's called perspective.

You're welcome in advance for the help.

Re: “Stegelin: Email etiquette with Lindsey Graham

How annoying it must be for Senator Graham's family and friends to get phone calls in which he dictates, with his delightful drawl: "Ree, ree, forward, ree, forward, ree, ree: Breitbart Exclusive! More PROOF that Obama is a secret, Kenyan usurper..." garbage that most people of his age would otherwise just email to everyone.

Re: “Stegelin: Email etiquette with Lindsey Graham

Hillary's emails? Haven't heard about it. I do however find it hilarious that Graham is too stupid to know how to email. It shouldn't surprise me that a state senator is just as ignorant as those that voted for him.

Re: “Stegelin: Email etiquette with Lindsey Graham

Wouldn't a better subject for the cartoon be Hillary's email issues. A huge news story in early 2015. Maybe Hillary has some pointers for email etiquette?

seriously?

Sorry Senator Graham, but your lack of email is a non issue...as is your chance to be President.

Re: “Stegelin: Stingrays on thin ice

Had a similar experience with a business i worked at, which Intertech aquired.
No problem with their business decisions about that company. Its business.

Now they need our money. All taxpayers should tell them to deal with it on their own. Sell the team and move on, maybe they were never meant to try to run a hockey team, that's not our fault.

I think the Charleston market is high on the ECHL's list of places to have a franchise so someone else will replace them if the team should fold. Check the history of the ECHL, its filled with franchises that have moved, folded or started new.

Re: “Stegelin: Stingrays on thin ice

This is beyond ridiculous. The Zucker family is worth over $2.5 Billion personally, and The Intertech Group is worth over $6 Billion.

When Jerry was alive, this never would have been a consideration. They should be embarrassed for asking for taxpayer funds with the amount of wealth they possess. I should know; I worked for them for many years. And for shit dollars.

Disgraceful....

Re: “Stegelin: Gov. Haley's poetry slam

A political cartoonist, whose work would only exist because he or she took money from the state, is not free.

All arts and artists will work on their passion regardless of money from the state. So it will never cease to exist or influence society. If your driven to create.. purely on the need for money, than you might want change your focus.
There is an open and free market for all creators to operate and find a market for their passions.

The state could always just make sure you have a job and money but of course freedom goes out the window..
after all what state wants to pay those that rebel against it?

Painting murals honoring the high overlord and writing anthems to his glory may keep you creating for a living... but at what cost?

Re: “Stegelin: Whose lives matter?

Suspected gang members have confessed to killing more than 40 students missing for six weeks, Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo has said.

Your political cartoons are neither funny nor even close to truthful. It is your opinion...yet there are better ways to express it.
My Opinion you still need to study some Walt Kelly. Constructive criticism from within the editorial cartoon world would certainly help.

Re: “The race race

I think the cartoonist needs to learn how to hyphenate the word "offended."
