While I wouldn't classify General Powell as a flaming liberal he is hardly aligned with the Republican party anymore. Medicare and the VA have such stellar records to use as a model, just like the single payer systems in the civilized world where there is no way you would be able to do like my wife did today which was walk into the doctor's office at 8 and be out of there before 9 with two scrips in hand.
Medicare, the VA...
I like the plan recently endorsed by Republican Gen. Colin Powell... Universal coverage via a single-payer system. Just like the rest of the civilized world. Maybe there's hope more like minded Republicans will follow suit.
There are several Republican plans.
Here is ONE.
Please check out HR 3121 American Health Care Reform Act
If your interested.
I have been reprimanded by the liberal powers that be. :)
I copied and pasted that from a previous post (i made) which was allowed.
In fact it is still on the website. Maybe have a consistent policy?
Also since i wanted to post an original "bill" how would one not copy and paste
the contents of a bill pending in congress?
artrogue, The comments were deleted because they were copied and pasted verbatim from other sources. We're pretty generous with what we allow here, but please don't simply repost others' original content.
hahaha thats a great question. editor?
lol - why did your other posts get removed?
I make a great living creating pretty pictures too.
Don't fall into their stereotype.
artrogue - the alternatives you bring up are not viable to liberals because they do not require the expansion and deep involvement in the system by the government. Remember their ultimate goal is to get to government run healthcare so we can have a shitty system like Canada and England where you get to wait months to do anything. Also, you have to remember that if an idea is not from the liberal perspective liberals do not consider it to be a valid solution. Liberals are open minded people, as long as you agree with them and don't bring up the fact that they are usually wrong about almost everything. Except writing songs and making pretty pictures, they are generally pretty good at that.
My favorite healthcare plan put forward by Republicans is the Heritage Foundation's own Affordable Care Act. You call it ObamaCare, artie.
There are several alternative healthcare plans put forward by republicans ...if you did some research before you drew your cartoons you might find another more worthy subject.
Your tax dollars at work. Forget about the Cracky McCrackalots....we have illegal bike parking to attend to. Cracky won't generate $$'s (cept for himself) and his paperwork takes so long to fill out when hes arrested - so annoying...but that dumb freshman from COFC who just chained up outside on King has some Daddy with deep pockets to pay his fine. By the way, Cracky votes yes! on these racks, makes it easier to steal a group at one time instead of having to wander around looking for lone bikes chained to trees and signs.
"How did this get started or approved?"
Oh, I don't know...maybe because people are so obsessed with the ACA, Benghazi, and cokehead Congressmen that they don't notice the things happening locally that actually affect their day-to-day lives?
Bike racks are a good idea. But as you can see, the local gov now has a reason to confiscate bikes for being illegally parked. There's no pocket they won't dip into.
What's a Huffy 360 going for these days anyway? And how do I get my hands on a set of Haro handlebars?
This ordinance seems completely ridiculous. How did this get started or approved? Riley and co.'s efforts to make Charleston a tourist friendly city is really ruining it for locals. GO HOME, CONDÉ NAST!
