I find it sad and disturbing that this is the best we have.
no. the logic i would use is horses are work animals and have been forever. because some folks feel otherwise is fine. but at the end of the day it's an animal. i make my dog sit for a treat everyday. am I to be reprimanded for doing what the animal wants to do? get some food?
these animals are loved. do they get spooked? sure. like my dog every time she sees a squirrel.
300 years is a blip in nature. so yes, i would say it was fine 300 years ago it should be fine now.
That's the logic you want to use? "It was fine 300 years ago, so it should be fine now!"
Then again, that is the official state motto isn't it?
good thing the horses that built this town 300 years ago had air conditioning.
Need signs and balloons on the street so those stuck in traffic see there is a market going on. Last week there were hardly any people there and the ones there mostly said they were there because of soccer practice, not because of the actual market. Shame they couldn't put simple signs or balloons by 61!
Lol, this category decided by who gave you the most money?? These results are laffable at best..
Charleston is weird. The natives bitch and moan constantly about tourists and the influx of outsiders moving here. Yet say one negative thing about the carriage industry that is primarily supported by said tourists and transplants, and the natives flip out. There is no consistency of thought. Which probably explains a lot about our city's current identity crisis.
Thanks for the love!
Chef Jason Stanhope creates approachable, delicious food that I wish I could eat every day. His talent is a gift to Charleston's culinary world and his name should be well known. Kudos to FIG - number one in my book!
The Devil is in the Details. The lowering of the temperature requires FOUR readings before the animals are allowed off the steamy asphalt. Add to that the thermometer located FOUR stories atop a hotel where cool breezes blow. That makes Charleston's new temperature law the HARSHEST IN THE NATION. No kudos deserved here!
Santi's tries hard to present the best they can. By far the best Mex in Charleston..
Hall's does Not have the Best Steak in town...Allen Bros. doesn't sell the best steak...Hall's is good, but not nearly the best STEAK...We are talking STEAK...
OK now this really proves people Know Nothing...Ando's is so worn out and bad...Junk...MP location is the worst example of pizza in the South...Crap....
This is exactly how F'ed up MP is...Page's? What? It is a diner at best..cheap food and cheaper people...Mess....
CCP I understand when looking at the available options of what could be considered as a "hip hop" club in downtown Charleston that these spots would make the list. It doesn't change the FACT that none of these places are actually hip hop clubs. These could be a best "club" category and there wouldn't be any out cry. The reason there is, is because many people in our community are working hard to promote the culture of hip hop and want to see it grow and have a true place in Charleston. These spots that have been mentioned thus far do not back what hip hop culture is about and it's frustrating to see a city publication give away a title that these people work to give meaning to. To clubs that have yet to lift a finger to see it thrive in the Holy City.
Playing the latest Drake song and mixing it with techno music and calling it hip hop is like putting ketchup on ramen and calling it spaghetti! Downtown does not cater to the hip hop community so stop pretending that it does.
These are not hip hop clubs at all. When has any of these venues downtown ever dedicated a night strictly to hip hop? This is a slap in the face to residents who live here that really know what's going on.
Let's be serious CCP, there are NO Hip Hop clubs Downtown! Not a single club. Just because they play a few Rihanna or Drake songs DOES NOT make them a Hip Hop club. DO BETTER !
Come on CCP we just talked about this last week. And y'all agreed with me that there isn't a hip hop scene especially at these particular clubs. Totally not with it!!!!
There are no Hip Hop clubs in downtown Charleston. Just because a club/bar may play a few Hip Hop songs does not qualify them as a Hip Hop club. And just because you've seen people of color in a certain establishment (or because the DJ is a person of color) doesn't make the club a Hip Hop club either. This category is a lie and needs to be removed.
