What a bar it is.....Can't get any better views in the South...Take some friends from out of town....Great people, and a true gem....Except for Brooks...Just Kidding..I can kick Steve Carroll's ass....at golf...SMD.
This just goes to show who votes for this....What a dump it is....I am a party animal, but the Recovery Room is beneath a rat on a string....Dump City....PBR? Why? That is your clientele...When you get done being sued, you might have to get a bartender's job at a real bar...SMD.
If all you have to pick from is Home Team and Sticky's, why vote? Both are not very good...SI restaurant is really not as good as it was...And it was Never very good...SMD
Not even close.....Gourmet? What?
OK...NOT even good...One hair better than Food Lion, but they are closed...and soon will be the PIG....IOP Connector Pig is a joke...Try to find a quality piece of Beef...NY Strips? Not...Junk....The Pig is Dead...
The Best In The South...Period...
The whatever it's called that's a baked potato loaded with barbeque is nice.
BECAUSE POTATO. BAKED.
Not good, sorry.
No Way....Andolini's isn't even in the top 10.....Come on! This place has been crap for a long time.....LaPizzeria, Sabbatino's, Amalfi's, Grimaldi's, are all way, way better...The voters are idiot college kids...Heck, even Mellow Mushroom, which sucks, is better...How about EVOO, way better than Andolini's...If you think Andolini's is the best you should have to eat that junk...Putrid garbage....
I'm glad someone brought up Q and Storey. Here's the thing - they seem like nice enough guys, but their voices are identical; I've listened to them for years and still can't tell who is who. And whichever one gives little news tidbits gets flustered too often for it to be his full-time job. A typical story: "Yesterday in North Chalers... Charste... Yesterday, a man in cha... Chasterdon depo... ok... yesterday, a deputy in Narleston... North Carles..." After a while, I'm like "just forget it and move on". I will say though, kudos to those guys and Sherry for picking up the slack after Todd left. They did go above and beyond. I just wish Rocky D could get a gig with a wider audience. He's severely under-appreciated here in the lowcountry.
Mike Daisey, you are a liar, who pawned off your lies on an exceptional journalist. You are not a story teller, you are a liar. Liar liar. Pants on fire.
I just want someone to give me local news and views. Unfortunately, Charleston as a tertiary market just doesn't have the call-in IQ needed to support great radio, (see the current crop of 1st Dist candidates - and yes I am a native). All the people with whom I have had contact in local radio are nice folks, but all their shows lose me after about 30 mins. We can't expect Larry King from Bugtustle. Praise the Lord and pass the Dogma!
Yet they can't afford a keyboard with a key that separates paragraphs.
"City Paper really needs to do an overhaul of the 'Best Of' categories so that it isn't a sham like it is every single year."
Because this whole "letting people vote" thing is so passe.
I completely disagree with this selection. Tara is no Ann Coulter by any stretch but she's no Richard Todd either. Her 'Liberal Latte' crack the other day sealed the deal for me. Richard was right of center and sure he'd get stuck on an issue or two but he was even in his contempt for both Liberals and Republicans. He understood that just because you call yourself a Republican doesn't mean you're a Conservative. Tara is just abrasive and loves to hear herself speak. I will always love John Quincy and Fred Storey but they can't keep me there. Charleston has a definite dearth of local talk radio talent. Hell, as much as I can't stand Rocky D, he's better than Tara any day and at least I can enjoy his show.
I'll admit, it took me a while to warm up to her too, but she's kind of grown on me. Compared to Todd's daily harping on not being able to play Crazy 8's with his son for fear of being arrested for gambling, or the Crosstown flooding, I'll take Tara any day. And don't even get me started on the mindless witch hogging up the airwaves on 94.3 Now, if we could just cut down on all these nonstop Jeff Cook realtor testimonials...
Also, they have two locations. You may have to walk a block, but I always find parking on Sullivan's.
I'm sorry, was the award they created specifically for you not good enough?
Congratulations to Jo Cannon and her staff on this award. Well deserved!
