Re: “Best New York Style Pizza

You simply cannot go by what you read, what you hear and even what you see...did I mention what you read? Having eaten at Andolini's three times since moving here about a year ago, I was looking for something new. Most importantly I was looking for something non-GMO...and before I go on...actually...I don't even feel like going on at this point...Mellow Mushroom has the best pizza in town, hands down (imho)! And their food is "real" food and they even have a gluten-free option (which is pretty ok). Having lived in NYC for a brief stint, New York Style Pizza is in New York, period! Andolini's AND Sabatino's is only a step up from Pizza Hut, Dominoes and PJs...and that don't say much, now does it?

Re: “Best Future Congressman

yes too many jerks are Limboss wannabees, feeling totally entitled to unlimited sex or blaming women "objects" for saying no to their demands... this is the verbal facade to rapists, battering domestic "partners" and those who'd force a woman to stay pregnant with such jerk progeny

Re: “Best French Restaurant

I hate to break this to everyone... but just because Rue de Jean has a French name does not make it a French restaurant. Their menu includes sushi. What about La Fourchette? It is owned and managed by an actual Frenchman, trust me go in there and he will come and speak to you at some point during your dinner. What about Fast & French? Or even Fat Hen or Fish for goodness sake?

As far as "best French restaurant," this is not only a poor choice but an insult to the authentic and wonderful French restaurants that Charleston has to offer.

Re: “Best New York Style Pizza

Apparently the "New York Style" refers to nouveau cuisine from a northern English city. I'm from New York and Andolini's is not like anything I've ever seen either in the city or in the more mundane regions anywhere in the state. Perhaps a qualifier should be that before voting on New York style pizza, you must actually know what it is. But, alas, if that philosophy were to be emplaced on all "Best Of" categories, it would permanently skew all of the results we've grown to expect..........Nevermind.

Re: “Best Skincare Column

unfortunalty the woman that writes for city paper does not have a clue what minx is really about. Minx no longer discusses sexual issues in the publication. We believe that women get their empowerment when their mind, body and spirit is aligned as one. We focus on words of Enlightement filled with Encouragement to move forward in life through ones own Empowerment. To learn more about Minx, check it out at www.charlestonminx.com

Re: “Best New York Style Pizza

You know, it's really funny... I've eaten Andolini's pizza and it's ok - if you've got the munchies and have an uncontrolled urge for anything to fill your stomach. Last year, I made a trip to NYC and while I was there, I ate at the place where Sabatino spent years "learning the trade". It was "to die for"! I've only had better pizza in one place - Italy. I'm here to tell you that I couldn't taste any real difference between NY pizza in NYC (the Bronx) and NY pizza at Sabatino's. Sab's pizza is, by far, the best place in town and the ONLY place in town to get real NY pie.

Re: “Best Store for Beach Gear

Anyone who voted for Waves has no soul, and shouldn't be allowed on the beach. Apparently there's quite a few of you soulless bastards out there. Shame.

Re: “Best Dive Shop

Lowcountry Scuba on Shem Creek crushes this place. Better prices, better atmosphere, better staff, better charters, better classes. This is some wickety-whackness.
