Re: “The State of the Brewnion

Great article Timmons. You highlight some good examples of why more is not more. The few high quality examples of beer-related activities in our area have spurred dozens of less than stellar imposters. It's important for us to spend our time and money supporting those who really have their heart in it and focus on quality and experience, not just profit. Thanks for the insight.

Re: “I is for Intersex: Kneena

Intersex my butt, It more looks like a Transsexual pretending to be Intersex and trying to claim to be intersex because it's in denial. Can't even name a single Intersex condition that they are claiming to have. Most intersex people will outright tell you what they have instead of making up stories and lying about it

Re: “15 fresh faces and new leaders that have cropped up over time

I think you're missing a big point. Edwin McCain's music sucks. BOH's does not.

Re: “15 fresh faces and new leaders that have cropped up over time

I think you're splitting hairs. But Murray is certainly more of a local than someone who has never lived here before. The article starts off by admitting it could be a stretch to call BOH a local band. But the fact is, Ben Bridwell is from SC, and the band now calls Charleston home. Edwin McCain, while also from SC, wasn't born in this area and doesn't live here currently. That's the only distinction the article makes, and it is accurate. You're starting to sound like one of those people who thinks Obama isn't a U.S. citizen. Wait, maybe you ARE one of those people. Come to think of it, your bio says you moved to Charleston twenty years ago. Are you a local?

Re: “15 fresh faces and new leaders that have cropped up over time

So, adman, using that logic Bill Murray is an actor from Charleston?

Re: “15 fresh faces and new leaders that have cropped up over time

Ima Oldman--actually it's neither favoritism nor hypocrisy, but fact. The difference is that McCain is from Greenville originally and lives there still. Members of BOH live in the Lowcountry. http://www.edwin.com/biography.html

Re: “15 fresh faces and new leaders that have cropped up over time

You call Band of Horses a local band, but say Edwin McCain doesn't count because he's from Greenville. Personal favoritism or hypocrisy?

Re: “Two wheels are better than four

Slightly off-subject, but for students from "off" bicyclists are required by law to follow the same laws as motor vehicles.......... now if only Chas P.D. would enforce it more strongly......

Re: “Two wheels are better than four

Driftaway - Charleston has already tried a bike-sharing program. The infamous "Yellow Bikes" all disappeared completely after only a few days, never to be seen again.

Please consult Mr. Cole's comment for the reason why.

Yo Burrito also offers live most Monday nights from The South Carolina Broadcasters and during some Friday nights from various other local artists. Shows are FREE and usually during happy hour, so drinks are SUPER cheap!

Re: “These local boutiques and stores set the trend

I think hipster chic moved away from thrift stores about ten years ago, once it stopped being just the "poor" kids being bohemian.

Re: “Two wheels are better than four

Charlotte is implementing a pilot program of bike sharing. With the large student and visitor population downtown I think this could be very popular here.
