Re: “Get off your steed and on a bike

And remember everyone:

Every extra person who bikes, takes a car out of traffic and out of valuable street parking.

That said, try to make them feel safe by avoiding passing them in a narrow lane and everything else you can think of :)

Re: “Get off your steed and on a bike

More tips n' laws:
** Your bike WILL BE CONFISCATED by the City if you park on anything but a corral on KING STREET between Calhoun and Spring. Don't expect a note -- if your bike is parked illegally and disappears, grab $40 cash and head to the police station on Lockwood. And be ready to buy a new lock.
** DON'T TEXT on your bike -- it's illegal, you can be ticketed.
** Helmets aren't mandatory, just a good idea. Find one you like and give it a try.
** And to reiterate, USE LIGHTS on your bike -- white on the front, red on the back. You can be ticketed and fined if you're seen biking without them at night.

This is a nice list of beers. However, Rodenbach is not brewed by the makers of bavik.

Re: “Sullivan's Island is the Lowcountry's family-friendly beach town

You should really mention something about the rip tides. Believe me when I say that the rip tide will take you away. There are more water missions for ignorant and misinformed people and anything on the Island. Trust me. My family has been there since 1906.

Re: “Sullivan's Island is the Lowcountry's family-friendly beach town

VRBO has all the rental places on SI. Some of the older, non-beachfront ones aren't very expensive.

A trip to the top of the SI lighthouse was a standard outing for SI Elementary students in the early 80's. Great view unmatched from any other local building except the Morris Island lighthouse.

How hipster kool is Folly Beach? Just look at all the plaid and craft beer being peddled to CofC kool kids.

Re: “The Charleston Digital Corridor wants to give Morrison an IT makeover

Development in this area has the advantage of excellent, existing transit connections to the North and South on several busy CARTA bus lines, including the #10, #11 and #20. Many younger tech workers prefer to put their time and money into paying off student load debt, travel and lifestyle than owning a car full time.

Re: “A photographic tour of Charleston's swankiest offices

What he ^ said. The more perks an office has, the more time you're going to spend there. It's a great scam. No thanks. My home has alcohol and video games without the coworkers and the delusion I am doing something meaningful because I'm at work 80 hours a week.

Re: “A photographic tour of Charleston's swankiest offices

I guess some places will do anything to convince their workers they aren't still just wage-slaves on the factory floor.

Re: “A photographic tour of Charleston's swankiest offices

Y'all should add the Charleston Regional Development Alliance...even though it's just a nonprofit with 9-10 people and all of the money is donated from local business or government and is meant to add jobs in the tri-county area, it's super swanky and brand new, huge flatscreens, waterfront views, porches on the ashley river, and three huge conference rooms...
