We must remember the true meaning of the Easter holiday and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oschter Haws (the original name for the Easter Bunny) is a fictitious embodiment of all that is unholy with American gluttony for chocolate, candy, eggs and all things savory and sinful. See the Good Lord RISE from his grave and RECLAIM our sacred holiday with the Hammer of God at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/04…
Oh man, sign me up.
Higher than public access?
No such thing.
Uh. I think they are shooting higher than public access. From what I've heard, there is cable network interest. Maybe it will fail. I'm no Edwin McCain fan, but I think this is a great idea and could be awesome for Charleston.
I love how Springsteen tailors his vocal sound to each and every composition.
Great band, and a fine bunch of guys...can't wait to see 'em this weekend!
Yea, sure, if you're into the Americana revival. I'm not.
Still, whatever. I'm sure they are going to have a grand old time and whatnot - and I'm hoping the production comes out looking and sounding good.
I sort of question why they're aiming at a TV audience, though. Seems like they'd be better off going internet-only.
I mean, let's face it, SCETV is not likely to touch it. There's no real public access in Charleston (sorry, C2). And "local" network affiliates long, long ago stopped running any local content outside of news.
So, yea. What's the plan?

To be completely fair, Sam Bush is a stone-cold badass.
Actually if I am not sure about a show the opening act may help make the decision. I go to a lot of concerts and have found some great new music. I also support local artists whenever I can so in answer to your question, yes, there are people who go to a show and enjoy the opener.
I am SOOOO there!
a) beard is majestic
b) voice is like velvet
Well played. I think that should be done more often.
Oh, and just in case anyone gets their hips all out of joint, I'm not trying to insult any local artists who get an opening slot on a national tour or whatever....
It's just that, really, no one ever goes to see the opening act for a show like that.
Except, maybe, those times I've been to Jucifer shows and it's clear who's there to see their boyfriend's/cousin's/mom's band and they run for the door as soon as The White Wall of Doom begins to vibrate.

Because who cares who opens?
You did not mention that Charleston's own Tyler Mechem from Crowfield is opening.
"'We wanted to make sure that as the runners are running, the style of music reflects how the terrain moves...'"
The terrain sucks the whole way through?
"'Our inspiration is Austin City Limits, and we hope this concert becomes that big.'"
Except that ACL usually books acts that are actually interesting. Or, they used to, anyway.
Meh. It's been done before....

Re: “Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon, and Fastball to relive the '90s in North Charleston”
Two of those bands don't even ring a bell and the other three ring all the wrong ones.
Why can't we focus on getting The Breeders into town?
