Re: “Todd Rundgren hates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, loves EDM, and might be a techno psychic

Todd has said publicly about RRHOF, "You're dream is my nightmare." I think we can all see what he's saying.
The RRHOF is a joke masquerading as a popularity contest. If a band sold tons of records back in the day, being inducted into the RRHOF will give your record sales a renewed kick upwards.
Nothing personal. Strickly business.

Re: “Charleston musicians enter NPR's Tiny Desk Contest

I guess it's no biggie I missed the deadline. I don't think NPR would let me do this anyway.

Re: “Todd Rundgren hates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, loves EDM, and might be a techno psychic

He should be in the HOF for a number of reasons, but his track record just as a producer would be enough to get him in if the system was not simply who Jann Wenner and his musically tasteless buddies like or dislike. Remember Wenner's Rolling Stone magazine was proud of trashing Abbey Road, the 1st 5 Led Zeppelin albums, etc in its record reviews, but then he'd suck up to John Lennon, Dylan etc like the star f**ker he is...

Re: “A love letter to Chris Gaines, the misbegotten alter-ego of Garth Brooks

Yes Kinsey I have to agree that Chris Gaines brought out a unique scale to G's vocal range and I felt like the harmonic melody "Lost in You" was so shockingly amazing I still get chills when I listen to it! Garth once said his Dad was so blown away by his voice on "Lost in You". I don't think he or Garth, knew he could sing like that!

Being a diehard Garth fan, oh these so many years it never bothered me that he went off the country path and tried something new. I just felt that all great ones have to explore, experiment and think out of the box with their music and path. I loved every track the minute I heard them! I completely got lost in the sound. I was very proud of Garth for making this step in his music and growth.

I still listen to my original, holographic cover, limited edition cd that I treasure and enjoy on a regular basis. I share with friends and family and with their little giggles and smirks when they finally realize who that really is that is singing there are no more giggles or smirks but wows and ohs...I slowly build a small legion of Christ Gaines fans still to this day.

If I ever have the chance to meet Garth, the Chris Gaines would be one I would love for him to autograph. It's a very special gift to us fans. With the excitement of attending 3 nights of his 4 shows this weekend I hope and wish that I do get to meet him and tell him how much that album means to me as part of his music collection. Have secretly wished he would do just a special edition Chris Gaines like one of his box sets. I know for a fact it would sell...just leave the wig and two toned tights at home. Bring the jeans and a stool and continue that channel when he got lost in the music deep down in places I don't think he knew was there.

Thank you for joining me in the admiration and accolades to Chris Gaines...

Re: “Todd Rundgren hates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, loves EDM, and might be a techno psychic

Ok, he produced the New York Dolls album. Is that alone worth enshrinement? No. Spend an hour with Pandora or Spotify listening decade by decade to Rundgren's music, then compare each song with the hits of the same era, then watch Stallone's "Demolition Man" and see how in it's future top 10 radio plays only 20th century commercial jingles. That reality's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is where Lundgren belongs. And btw, CIA, you like the Dolls, you like Johannson because they were originals, you don't like Rundgren, he wasn't.

Re: “Todd Rundgren hates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, loves EDM, and might be a techno psychic

He produced the first New York Dolls Record, he still has all of his hair and hes still alive after 50 years in the music business, that should count for something. The Hall of Fame is a joke, John Lydon had the right attitude, "we're not coming, we're not your monkey and so what?" I think that perhaps the piss stain comparison is still pretty spot on as well. While Todd's music is not for me, I still gotta give him some mad respect for producing that first Dolls album that many of us still love, he gave us David Johansson singing Bo Diddley's Pills, now that is a real classic. Jesus, wish I didn't read this article because now all night and traveling all day tomorrow I'll be singing "Through my head, through my head".

Re: “PHOTO REVIEW: Colin Hay at the Music Hall

This was a great show from a highly underrated artist. His solo work is impressive both musically and lyrically, and I recommend a spin around his web site or his youtube channel for some great footage of performances and insight into his new album, "New Year People".
