Re: “Charleston councilman argues alleged voting violation should kill West Ashley bike lane vote

Millions of dollars for a "temporary bike lane" !

Build a new bridge without obstructing traffic flow and connect bike lanes form South Windermere and Highway 61.

"It’s on a state road in the city and would be paid for with money from the county’s half-cent sales tax."

NO I-526, a NO vote on the sales tas referendum, NO bike lane

Re: “Charleston councilman argues alleged voting violation should kill West Ashley bike lane vote

That's a stretch. I'm not for the bike lane at all, however...

The quoted section on the rules of order refer specifically to attendees of the meeting, in person, in the room. They do not in any way imply that the meeting cannot be attended via telephone. If they deem that the phone was an issue, then it's not Williams' vote that is at issue, it is the rest of the voters for violating the rules or order.

Re: “Lessons I learned from Alison Piepmeier

Just stumbled across Alison's last column and your response while checking my email and as a retired teacher was touched by both.

You have truly honored Alison by your writing. There is no greater joy for a teacher than to have had a positive impact on your students. Alison obviously had a positive impact on you and you no doubt are having a positive impact on others. Well done -- and may you continue to do so in the years to come!

Re: “Thank you for my beautiful life

Alison, your academic and personal impact will last such a long time in so many ways and places. But nothing will replace your energetic can-do attitude or your "full frontal" feminist presence. I will miss you.

Re: “The South's intentional ignorance encourages groups like the Secessionist Party

So many commenters just proved you right. The worst kind of ignorance is when one doesn't only deny reality, but actively refuses to acknowledge the truth. Not worth my time to refute the idiots, but I will say a resounding HAHAHA at them.

Re: “The South's intentional ignorance encourages groups like the Secessionist Party

I agree with local hutch 100%. Go and live in Chappequa with the hildebeast and Bill. By the way did you know that slavery was created by the Democratic Party? They also came up with the KKK. The Confederate flag does not represent slavery either. Go and get your facts straight Mat. While we are on the treason subject did anyone hear about the treasonous acts that our current lame duck president committed? Well apparently he told central command to "cook" the information coming in and not report it to anyone. That information pertained to ISIS and their proliferation. Go and listen to Hannity from Friday... Such corruption with those Dems.

Re: “Thank you for my beautiful life

To the family of this wonderful woman:
Alison's soul will carry on through her daughter and all those who were fortunate to know her. I am thankful for her having shared her story with so many of us. Her grace and love shined through in every word she wrote. May we all learn to cherish life, family and friends as she did.

I wish her a safe journey and know that heaven will gain what our world lost .

Re: “Thank you for my beautiful life

Thank you for this. My beloved, beautiful, brilliant mother entered hospice this month at age 67, after being diagnosed in May. Her strength and fortitude serve her well, but I know it makes it harder for her to accept help now. I'm hoping she sees it as those who want to help see it--a gift to be able to be of the slightest assistance to this woman so many love.

Re: “USC Upstate closes gender studies center that booked lesbian play

Homophobia is a bigoted slang created by leftist Statists. It translates to fear of the same, which shows how bigoted and clumsy these agenda driven idiots are!

Whether some one can control behavioral desires does not make any behavioral desire a behavioral virtue. Reproductive systems are their for one reason, and the only phobics are the behaviorally perverted prideful bigots who think their perverted behavior illness is somehow entitled to recognition over other perverted behaviors like incest and bisexual domestic sexual relationship partners.

The left is a fascist collectivist body politic propaganda hammer. Stand up to them or be prepared to get fired and discriminated against for your behavioral viewpoints. They are extremely proud and spiteful!

Title IX and gender segregated sports for women only is fascist! Women aren't about equal opportunity, they are about promoting their own self serving interests!

I will not comment on the identity politics. I admire your unique courage in facing human suffering, instead of taking another way out. I have faith that your courage will be rewarded, and I will continue to pray for you and your family.
