Re: “Best Deli

Seriously? This place is kind of meh. Do they make their corn beef and pastrami in house ? I know they have to ship in their cheesecake, I am assuming they ship in everything else. Too bad, they are not a real deli. I think I'll walk over Craig Diehls place when I want a real sandwich. PS I don't have a clue what Pronghorn said, but whatever it was, I am agreeing with him.

Re: “Best Heart for Radio

Brad produced The BTS Radio Show and his passion and creativity are the reason I still do the show. He is and will be missed, but never forgotten.

Maybe Hannah will look into it. I've noticed that CCP doesn't pick on the ol' P&C any more...

Re: “How humble Summerville became a Mecca of punk, metal, and hardcore in the early '00s

There is a lot of good punk music out there, but the whole ethos of the genre is a joke. It's like middle-class college kids wearing Che Guevara shirts they bought at Hot Topic.

Their anti-establishment musings are extremely comical once one grows up and realizes punk does not exist outside of the system, and was never a threat to the system. In fact, the system co-opted the movement and turned it into a mass-consumed fashion statement from which it could profit.

Re: “Best Deli

Chris Haire is in the pockets of the powerful Big Deli lobby. They've infiltrated the top ranks of the CCP. We will not be silenced. Wake up sheeple!

Re: “Best Deli

Pronghorn,

I pulled them.

Reason: They were stating information that: One, was hearsay. Two, wasn't a part of a critical review of the restaurant. Three, stated damaging information that could not be substantiated.

Re: “Best Deli

Censorship on this? Really? Would it be possible for an editor or any City Paper employee to explain this to me, please? Thank y'all.

If you explained the deletions to me, I wouldn't have to make the same posts again – but that's not a threat.

Kinsey Gidick?

Surely Sam Spence can put this matter to bed.

Re: “Best Local Comedian that Nashville Stole From Us

Dude you sound super bitter. You and Rachel from the "We were punk before Summerville was" thread should meet up for coffee.

Re: “How humble Summerville became a Mecca of punk, metal, and hardcore in the early '00s

I'm sure every generation could chime in, like I'm doing... Humble Summervile? A Mecca? I'm not offended because the years stated were well after my time as an angry youth. I will bring up the Charlestowne Landing Shows as well as Club Dog Alley and Myskins. The reason Summerville developed a scene was because in the 90s more folks began moving there for cheap home prices and more land. This all lead to a new generation of pissed off kids with skateboards and a need to scream. It's the circle of life.
Just because an author is too young to remember the times before they were able to go out to a show doesn't make the, disrespectful, it makes them of a different generation.

And fyi, I wouldn't piss Rachel off...

Re: “Best Local Comedian that Nashville Stole From Us

They have written about me, you're missing the whole point, did you really read the post? Is this a knee jerk reaction without thinking about what I'm saying? Think before you post, look at the whole story. I could have sworn I mentioned several other comedians, let me look... ah yes, there they are, plain to see. What is it about truth that you don't like? KeepinItReal my ass!! Keepinitfalse more like it.

"I don't want to sound bitter...."

You totally sound bitter. Begging the City Paper to write about you isn't going to get them to write about you.

Re: “Best Fundraising Event

This is not a fundraising event. While they do raise funds the folks at the Cooper River Bridge Run are a for profit entity. They solicit donations for charities along with registration fees but it is not a charitable event.

Re: “Best Deli

As a server that has been in the Food and Bev industry for multiple years I feel like I should enlighten you on what you have just posted. Over the past few years the laws have become stricter in regards to tip sharing and fair wage practices. Restaurants are not able to just hand over envelopes of cash to the servers from credit card sales. They are now requiring us to turn in those figures and they are now reporting those tips to the payroll company which In return we now have to pay taxes on. After the past few lawsuits involving local area restaurants my fellow servers and I are seeing our employers covering their own asses much to our dismay. I would say that whomever you are getting your info from is either sadly mistaken or very green to the current restaurant world. Perhaps instead of blasting a company on third hand knowledge you should have your source contact their company with their concerns.
