Re: “Brave Baby added to Spring Jam lineup

Pretty lame lineup so far. U would think they would come w some bad ass music, especially after that typhoon they had out there last year.

Re: “Shovels and Rope sings "The Fall of Charleston" on Civil War commemorative album

Hold on Clemson man, Iagree the CSA had a right to secede. However few would argue we would be better off today if the CSA had prevailed over the USA. My ancestors fought for the CSA. Men on both sides fought honorably and bravely for opposing ideals that were sincerely held . Read Grants autobiography , he repeatedly praises the bravery of the confederates, though he considered them deluded. Neither side ( with some notable exceptions were bands of thugs and criminals . Lets let the honored dead of both sides RIP.

Satan's Corvette? It should be George's Rice Rocket.

Re: “Remembering Music Television

What ever happened to music tv. There used to be a time when I could sit down in front of the tv and watch music videos all day! Those days are gone!

Re: “Shovels & Rope, Elim, Rachel Kate, Brave Baby to play Holiday Ball

Landsnark, I have to agree with you to an extent. I love the Avett Brothers and I was a big fan way before they ever got on the radio. Back in 2006-7-8 there weren't many folks that I knew of making music like that. Now everyone has a little cello or banjo or mandolin in their music. I know that this all just goes in circles and eventually we will be complaining that too many bands sound like grunge throwbacks or something, but I like variety and unique sounds. It seems like everybody has jumped on the folk-grass movement.

Re: “Shovels & Rope, Elim, Rachel Kate, Brave Baby to play Holiday Ball

Does the sound of generic proto-bluegrass/stylized rock, carefully dirty/perfectly accessorized, music permeating every radio station make you hate life? Do the obligatory, shoegazing, bearded, cookie-cutter southern, tattooed, vintage-hat wearing, banjo-playing 2 or 14 person indie/douche bands you get from your hipsterier-than-thou friends get worse and worse every year? If so, you need to listen to Christmas music on every other dial.

He doesn't deserve a ranch in Paradise Valley. I love that place.

Re: “John Mayer brings the hits to N. Charleston Coliseum

And when you say "melody of hits", don't you mean medley? Is there an editor or proofreader in the house?

Racer X, I agree. Ticket prices were far too expensive, after TM charges you're looking at around $81 to be on the floor!

Re: “John Mayer brings the hits to N. Charleston Coliseum

At ......"Straight Men for John Mayer" our goal is I'm OK, you're OK! Just because thousands of Babes dig John Mayer, it's OK for Straight Men to dig him too! Ok? I wanted to go see him myself, but the cost was too high. The cost for me and my wife would have been......$111 for tickets @ (55.50 a piece for the cheep seats), $10 to park, $16 for two drinks, plus $20 for something little to snack on............Total being $157 and would have been a total of $197 for seats (@ 75.50 a piece) to where you could actually see him playing. You gotta ask yourself is this the best value for my hard earned entertainment dollars? In the end the answer was no.

Re: “Relient K's Matt Thiessen meets a longtime superfan

Wow, this is definitely some good stuff to read. Still don't know how I feel about Collapsible Ling, but is good to hear what he has to say about it. I also relate with the fact thay the journalist is a longtime fan! I believe I would stop breathing for the first 10 minutes if I ever meet Matt Thiessen. I feel related to this article and I just love it (especially the part of "telling your mom about it" I did it like 10 times, she knows all about it. I hope I'll get the chance of meeting him!@. LOVED THE ARTICLE.

Bing Crosbie couldn't sing his way out of a wet paper bag. Total hack. My money is on Bing Crosby. If that kid keeps it up he might just make something of himself
