A growing trend, that is a friendly approach to empowering youth. So "talked at", for so many years, children were afraid of "healthy" and "good for you. Our garden and nutrition programming, has attracted more and more youth than ever before, interesting in growing and becoming "Peer Educators". I love any form of it. You may not have the top bucks to do this however, something as simple as a window box, can empower!

Actually Ron while you do not get charged sales tax you are responsible for paying use tax on any item shipped to you from out of state at a rate roughly equivalent to the sales tax rate. So, if you are ordering from Amazon and not paying taxes to the seller you are required by law to pay the use tax. If you are not you are cheating on your taxes.

@dangyankee - federally they have the House and that is all. The rest of your comment is a perfect example of scare tactics that are used to keep the low information voters casting their ballots for Democrat candidates even though it is the policies of the left that are hurting the little guys.

I can't help wonder what the GOP's end game is. In SC they are in control of all the branches of government, yet what do they have to show for it? Federally the have two of the three branches, yet what do they have to show for it?
What is their end game? Bringing back the 7 day work week? Ending child labor laws? No taxes for those making over $30,000 a year? NRA membership for new borns? Bringing back Pauper's Prisons? Shoving lesbian and gay citizens back into the closet? Not allowing women to have credit cards or the right to vote? African Americans being counted as 3/5's human? Then end of science as a study in schools? The end of public schooling? When they obtain total and complete control of our government what will they do? What is their end game? What will feed their beast?

Physical location, not state incorporated in. Amazon is one of those companies incorporated in Delaware, but located in Seattle WA.

What are the bases for these charges? References or citations to any research would be helpful to substantiate very dubious analysis. Anyone who opposes big government, does so in great part because of the incestuous relationship with big business.

What do you call their HQ, Gunny? Is it where they're incorporated? Many companies incorporate in Delaware due to its laws. And, Delaware has no sales tax.
Maybe I like your solution...if every online retailer moved to states with little or no sales tax, then other states may lower or eliminate those taxes to compete. Federalism at its finest!

Well, I'm not saying that the Gov is an ideal organization (local, state, or fed). I'm just saying that regulation is a necessary evil. And yeah, sometimes I think OSHA is just a big Federal Anti-Darwin program, but seriously, should someone have to risk their life to earn a paycheck stitching garments together?

The SCOTUS is not a legislative body (although both sides could make a reasonable argument against that in many cases) and the Senate has a Democratic majority. Because of the slim majority it may make it harder for them to do things but that means that instead of blocking everything they need to compromise. Even with that, though, they still have the majority and control all of the committees, the reason that pretty nothing gets done up there. All they want to do is nothing and blame their ineptitude on Republicans instead of actually sitting down and compromising on the 90% that most folks agree on and driving forward.
